Maybe when they spool up the DTW 73N category you'll see some St. Paul/Livonia relief. :p

That's why I'm hoping. I burned out on Bar Louie. I do like the MSP layover though. We're not in St Paul anymore. We're downtown Minny. It's nice. Great location, great hotel gym.

Your message makes it sound like they were big mouths and you showed them!

The other well he certainly did struggle and was a mess, no denying that. The correct decision was made as Delta did everything in their power to make it work. Perhaps had the individual been on the bus or another glass plane things would be different.

I have a lot of respect for guys flying round dial A/C (like the 9) because my time on Delta Express (737-200) was the least enjoyable flying of my career (including over a 1000 hours in a T-33 - another round dial A/C). I am glad I will never have to return to a round dial jet and while the 737NG is not the most comfortable cockpit I do like glass and would never want to go back. On a similar note, I remember as DAL was getting rid of the 727s there were a number of senior CA's that decided to retire early rather than transition to glass (I'm not sure what they were so scared of - I'd be much more scared of returning to a round dial A/C - that's a LOT of work).

Ah dude Icon A5 looks like a fantastic flying machine! Saw that one at OSH a few years back, when it was brand new. Might need to be a few years before I can afford it...but no question, MN is absolutely prime territory for an amphibious machine, lots of airports and lots of lakes! :D

I'm sure both you and Gunship Guy are fun to fly with! I think all he and a lot of the other pilots are saying is that certain enhancements should not be mandated. I will still wear my uniform properly, make PAs when they are needed and approriate....but forced pa's and conversation is just that forced.

That's the thing. We all disagree on here for political reasons but I'll bet we'd get along great on an overnight. Gunship would have awesome gunship stories and sailing would have fantastic sailboat stories. Hope I can join ya'll soon :o.

About a month and a half ago, my son (7) said he wanted to do a mechanical project like Daddy. So, I guess at some level I have been waiting for the day when he is ready to start learning how to do things and I got pretty stoked. I looked around for something we could do and found a really roughed up 2 stroke golf cart with a blown motor.

Suffice it to say, the project has become more than teach him how to rebuild a simple 2 stroke. I have been customizing the snot out of it. Built a lift kit and installed it, built and gussetted an exoskeleton to hold the custom body I'm fabricating for it. Modified some dub rims I had sitting in my shop collecting dust, etc, etc.

This thing has taken on a life of its own. And, I'm actually still pretty into it. I think it's a good idea to post project pictures. I think I will wait until its complete and just do some start to finishes...unless it sucks.:D

Getting spanked for loss #9. Someone hand me a Jack <insert angry/embarrassed face here>

Speaking of toys!

What's the matter with round dials??
Just have to remember to use rudder! Sometimes a LOT of RUDDER!

I need to tap into the knowledge base on this thread. My wife and I are taking a much needed weekend trip to SFO without the kids and I'm not that familiar the city. We're staying at a hotel near union square. If you had three nights downtown, what would you do? I want to do some of the touristy things but only if they're worth it. My wife wants good sushi and I just want good food and good beer.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do the bike ride to Sausalito over the Golden Gate, or if in a rental car go see the giant redwoods in Muir Woods. Dinner in China Town or the Stinking Rose. Go see Alcatraz, hang out on the wharf, tons to do there.

I was hoping your boys would help out my Rams, because they need ALL the help they can get. Looks like no dice. :(
