20 year upgrades.....for those just slightly senior to me I believe it. My seniority "should" have a much quicker upgrade. There is a huge difference in hiring date but very small difference in seniority for the bottom third of our list.

You gotta network. I think last time they got 100,000 apps for 1000 positions, many hundreds of which were for language skills. Unilinguals will need to get their attention somehow, otherwise just sit back and hope your number gets called against the odds. Everyone knows someone who knows someone, etc.

Wait, I thought you were a DFA anyway. Well best of luck!

You got that right. A large part of the stagnation for a lot of guys was from the missing decade" from post 9-11/recession/aviation great depression. If that doesn't repeat and age 65 holds and we don't go nuts with cabotage and just maybe stop subsidizing the ponzi scheme "Heros of Farnsborough" foreign bubble airlines and their crack pipe huffing fantasy order books, you could see guys hired 5 years from now upgrade in 3 years in junior equipment in junior bases.

All the more reason to leverage whatever "constructive engagement" we may have with the company to get them to have our backs in a merger with an uber young pilot group if it happens in exactly the same way SWA management did for them. No pilot contract can force that due to merger law and the possibility of arbitration. But if a company buys to phase out, it can be avoided. There is no way we should risk arbitration with a JB or a VX and watch 2-5 year captains slot in with 20+ year counterparts based on a relative seniority technicality. Likely? Who knows, but there is WAY too much going on with the "Virgin Group" and Singapore right now and I'm hearing some VX chatter that some there are thinking a massive DL windfall could be coming their way.

There is absoulutly-positively no way you can gauge upgrade time. The best you can do is -buy a King hat[while they're cheap] put it in the closet,take it out once and a while,put it on[[to see if there is any swelling] put it back....You just can't tell when the big wooley-booger will hit,just be ready...

Forget upgrade. I just want a little seniority. I get to commute to reserve next month because I needed a single day off. My daughter's birthday just happened to fall on a Saturday. Unfortunately, I have a conscience so calling in sick is not an option. I couldn't afford to drop a 4 day so back to reserve.

I'm only one person. I have a 4 yr old daughter and a 1 yr old son. I'm pretty darn busy, & I scan APC when I can. But this thread is ONE of many that I'm responsible for moderating. If something offends ANYONE, then will that ANYONE PLEASE USE THE REPORT POST FUNCTION?

Quite frankly, being a moderator sucks. I don't get any form of compensation. Unless you consider constantly being criticized as a form of compensation.

Hmmm... was this released in the summer? Looks like Delta is moving out of Concourse B in CVG. Everyone is consolidating to Concourse A.

CVG's big plan: $450M in upgrades
