It is not just "juvenile" talk.
Granted, the same could be said of many older pilots. But pilots are not public contact employees to anywhere near the extent that flight attendants are. There is a difference.
It is simply accepting reality to acknowledge that given a choice most passengers would prefer a more "enthusiastic" and yes, more attractive, cabin crew.
Most of our senior flight attendants provide excellent service but please don't insult our intelligence by pretending that the "cat rancher" issue doesn't exist.

So, all older FAs are unattractive and nasty and all young ones are beautiful and charming? You're not really saying that with a straight face are you?
You also can't tell me that senior mamas (and papas) don't follow uniform rules and regulations better than a lot of the young'uns who think rules are for everyone except them.
As far as passengers wanting a more "enthusiastic, and yes more attractive" cabin crew"---who the hell are you referring to? Middle aged, jackass businessmen who think they can board a plane and find a good lay? Call me nuts, but I don't judge anyone on their looks----besides everyone's standards are different. I'd rather have someone pleasant and classy who has experience rather than a Barbie (or for that matter) Ken doll who doesn't have a clue about customer service or how to follow a uniform rule.
Can someone pleeaaaasssse tell me when getting from Point A to Point B became akin to visiting a strip club or a pick-up bar?

P.S. I'd also rather have a FA who has control over the cabin (gained through experience) rather than one who doesn't have the guts to enforce the FARs and let's the flight be a free-for-all.

Good grief, I apologize for my "juvenile" comments....I was just trying to be funny....just as I was when I posted the pic of the hot Santa dude. If you don't want to be offended by the guy talk in our virtual "bar" then don't come here for your beer. Sheesh. I'm probably the only pole smoker on here and I post 1 picture a year, I don't get offended by underboob the other 364 days a year. This is all in fun and a great place to swap lies and rumors. Lighten up just a bit, life is more fun that way

As for your passengers not caring about what pilots look like---- again, where'd you get that impression. Nothing sickens me more than a so-called professional who looks like a hot mess and a punk. Makes me shudder thinking about what other rules he doesn't think he has to follow.

I do not see where anyone posted that passengers don't care what pilots look like. I did see where CheckEssential stated that we have pilots that seem to not care how they look, as well as flight attendants.

My understanding is that flight attendants are supposed to be proactive in assisting passengers and insuring the overhead bins are properly loaded. When we had song the flight attendants did this extremely well. The fact they were proactive in the loading insured that despite the 757's having more seats then the mainline we almost never had to check bags and the boarding process was much smoother. If however flight attendants are not supposed to assist the passengers or insure proper loading of the overhead bins then they should at least be capable of lifting their own bags into the overhead.

You can assist, which means the passenger does most of the work and you help them--not that they take their seat while you fumble with their 50 lb. oversized bag. Yes. we have to re-jigger the bins to ensure optimum room for every bag possible which sometimes involved turning the bag another way or removing smaller bags which should be placed under seats. Again, this isn't us being mean---it's preventing injury. Of course. common sense has to prevail and I would always do all the work for an elderly or disabled passenger...(even if it meant getting another FA to help me)

That is not what I said.
I asked you not to insult our intelligence by pretending the issue doesn't exist.

And those middle aged businessmen who YOU just stereotyped and insulted are the ones who pay your salary.

This thread could get interesting tonight. Better than some arcane discussion of ALPA representation policies. Maybe we need MORE flight attendants trolling this forum.

Could we also say that the above demographic is able to either write off a portion of the business travel...or the businessmen's company does, and or the cost is reflected in the product or service that is offered for sale?

I'm going Christmas and grocery shopping, so you boys have fun without me.

There are "cat ranchers" who have more energy than people much much younger. I honestly don't know where they get their energy. (maybe it's just a strong work ethic).

Ask any FA and they will say that businessmen are the worst. They're know-it-alls who thumb their nose at following the FARs since they have "status." They're also rude and demanding. (I worked at a regional for a couple of years and can write a book about bad behavior). All in a day's work, I suppose.

Oh, nice try on who pays my salary. I'm furloughed from a charter airline flying troops all over the world. Couldn't ask for better passengers than that!

Sorry about your furlough. I thought you were an active flight attendant. Have fun shopping and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.
