^^^this

when we make mistakes in the airplane--whether intentional or not--there are consequences.

the company itself must be held accountable, just like we are. the award was published before it was ready. That's Delta's mistake. Delta needs to honor the more favorable awards from both runs, and eat whatever green slips result.

ALPA should be there to make sure Delta is held accountable... not just to hold Delta's hand.

I screwed up once and was to high/fast and had to go around on a MD-11. I don't know how much money that cost Delta, but I wasn't fired, fined or even chastised. Sometimes a mistake is just a mistake and no one needs to be punished.

To be honest, that's not totally true. I've screwed up a lot more than once.

"Punishment" and "accountability" are not synonyms.

I agree. I'm not a company stooge for sure but at some point you have to say hey lets pick the fights worth fighting. No point creating a hostile work environment over every issue...just those 76 seat ones :p

Wasn't the mistake owned up to? That is accountability.

Or are you saying the company should be "punished?"

BTW, I'd guess there is someone in IT that didn't have a very pleasant day today.

It was a significant error. I guess I'd expect some consequences if I made a significant error. The company should be held to the same standard we are.

I hope the guilty party in IT filled out an ASAP report. :D
