I couldn't agree more. Cheerleading and voting in this one work rule will have long term repercussions. It was just dumb and proof that ALPA's constructive engagement has gone off the tracks.
All ALPA did was attempt to fluff, brainwash, and strong-arm (most of) us into voting "yes." Moreover, the folks who did their due diligence and raised the BS flag were castigated and persecuted by "our" union's propagandists. Bravo, ALPA. Thanks for the leadership. |

When you don't have a union that is willing to do the right thing and step in to protect pilots from themselves, this is the result. Our reps should never have let it get to a vote. But by passing it along, they enabled management to steal a lot of candy with very little in return. I agree that the consequences of this are only just beginning to be seen. Staffing the schedule with reserve pilots will become the norm. |
