I agree. I felt the same way about adding the 7th short call. ALPA's response was that we were actually going to be doing less short call on the wide-bodies because the periods will be 14 hours instead of 24. On the domestic side, the period are going from 12 hours to 12 hours. Again, the domestic side is getting a huge concession due to the new FAR's and ALPA's inability to say no. Imagine that.

The Santa-Fe Chicken salad is my favorite and they also give a discount.

Scoop :)

The Mexican place on the north end has fantastic crab cakes.

I know...seafood in a Mexican place at an airport...what could possibly go wrong? But they are darn tasty. I was completely surprised.

National Coney rocks. Breakfast all day. The breakfast special is a pile of food and pilot priced.

Is that in MSP?

I've got to go up there tonight for a flt. out tomorrow. Is Wok and Roll in MSP, or is that DTW? I don't get to either place very often, but I'll be looking for a good lunch tomorrow.

3rd to 8th in about 5 seconds....

Probably explains why she had that look we all have after a great approach but a bad landing. Nobody to blame but me.

Reserve utilization was looked at long and carefully when this was agreed to. Actual data and schedules were used not idle speculation. It is going to have minimal effect. The 1 hour yearly increase in average ALV and 30 day months will have a larger effect.

If ALV 15 isn't the culprit here, why is it that we're seeing a significant increase in the utilization of at least the domestic reserves? The 88B in ATL is night and day from last year.

DTW.

Dunno about MSP anymore. Since they started changing thing around, I'm not sure.

Pei Wei in terminal C has pretty good Asian inspired dishes.

Maybe we're just moving closer to the FA's system? Everyone holds a line and is on reserve.

When we left chapter 11 it was 8 24 hour short calls a month for everyone. We will now have 6 or 7 shortcalls a month depending on the ALV lasting 12 hours. Post chapter eleven 192 hours a month possible on short call. On 1 jan next year 72 to 84 hours a month depending on ALV.

The Phantom Speaks

Speculation continues to run rampant about the size of a narrow-body order. Up to 50 from a vendor is possible. Which vendor? Well the Phantom doesn’t have any facts, but apparently the manufacturer had something in common with _____toast, ______fries, ______maids, and a place Lance Armstrong is associated with. Just sayin’.

Fill in the blank…
Further progression is also rumored to be coming in our fleet as well:
A319,
A320,
A___.

4, 8.5, 3, 3 is steady progression but the Phantom was thinking “Hey! When’s the next ‘event’
so we can move even further ahead?” Well . . .

Most Favorable Merger Partner
Hats Leather Jackets

Airline A No Yes û

Airline B No Yes û

Airline C Yes No ü

Airline T No Yes. û

Here’s another riddle…

Q. What do 46°53'01"N 102°47'20"W, 17,787 people, 7,521 households, 4,308 families, and Delta Air Lines have in common?
A: Dickinson, North Dakota. One of the new routes and destinations for 2013 that keep adding up. It may not sound fancy, but apparently it’s a valuable market. Who knew?

In addition to the others in the merger, SWA is having another teachable moment. They can’t requal their AirTran 717 pilots for CQ because someone has bought up all the simulator time in the country. They may have to train in CHINA! That means buying their guys tickets on . . .wait for it . . . Delta!

More merger rumors . . . Now that Southwest is completing the integration of AirTran, are they eyeballing someone else? Perhaps someone far from Atlanta? Can their fleet of 737s be ETOPS certified?

This summer looks like it could be a hot one (for GSs). Plan accordingly. Or, if you’re like the Phantom and you’d like the summer off, bid the 717.

Management put some lithium-ion batteries in their business-plan calculators and came up with the conclusion that the Delta pilots will have to wait for the 787. But . . . it was made public at the company Leadership Conference. They’re thinking about a wide-body order . . . one condition . . . it actually has to fly.

So the Merger Partner C is Hawaiian airlines. Wears hats and no leather jackets.
