Because they passionately want to fly more on the weekends as opposed to week days??

I find it hard to believe.

P.S. Could be one of those DALPA survey misinterpretations :D

No. This was a win for DALPA. DALPA got this without giving up anything. I am surprised the company even agreed to it. I remember it was a trial to see if it would cost the company money before it came permanent. I laughed because we were way over-staffed at the time, but I still didn't think it would become permanent. It obviously did. Now green slips go out just about every single weekend. I am proud of DALPA for this one.

Hahaha! That reminds me of my new hire interview, sitting in the rocking chair, talking to Dr. Janus. He asked me, "If money were no object, what would you do?"

I asked, "You mean I don't have to work, I can do anything I want?"

He said, "Yes, anything you want."

I thought about it for a minute, I'd never really considered it, so I said the first thing that came to mind, "Well, if money were no object, and I could do anything I wanted, I'd be living on a 65 foot sailboat in Tahitti, with ten naked native women crewing it for me!"

You must remember, I was 26 and single.

He laughed and said, "That's pretty good, I've never heard that one before!"

I guess it worked, but I'm still waiting for the 65 foot sailboat and the 10 naked native women! :D I guess the fact that I have 3 daughters is my -payback- for even thinking about it!

For some reason that reminds me of this:

When your daughter asks you why she has to study, show her this picture.

When your son asks you why he has to study, show him this picture.

What "expenses" do you have? Cab fare? Tips? Meals?

They pay for hotels and perdiem so...?

I don't think I've ever submitted any, am I doing it wrong?

I wonder if this response would have given you the thumbs up.

True. An internet voting setup probably costs less than what "we're" paying for a few days' FPL for the ALPA posters here.

I get the feeling some of these ALPA leaders still go to the bank to cash checks. There's an app for that.
It's 2013. I shouldn't, and can't show up to vote. And I shouldn't have to. A ton of stuff passes every month that you could do an app based memrat on in less than a week. When it's as easy as it is now to do this, why wouldn't you let pilots vote on LOAs etc? Once again, draw your own conclusions. I shouldn't have to go through a middleman to have my vote counted. This isn't 1880 anymore.

Well Timbo, let's look at this objectively.

What happens on a typical 744 overnight? Let's ask Carl...

She's putting that loser hand symbol "L" on my face.

I hate it when they do that.

I think that means her hire date is before yours. :D

+36,000

(cost of an oil painting for the ALPA chairman. Not including frame)
