Someone refresh my memory. For a front end deadhead are we supposed to book our own seat thru travelnet via company business? Thanks
Denny I've been DHing a lot lately. You just need to go to Crew Travel (on the Travelnet page) fill in the info to add your name to the listing that's already been built by crew scheduling. Then you'll have a seat # and a record locator number that you can take to Delta.com and move your seat. Within 24 hours of your dept you can move to an economy comfort seat/exit row for no charge. I think the only time Company Business function is involved is if you are deviating from DH. Ironically, then you can move your seat to econcomfrt as soon as you're part of that system. I guess regular employees traveling positive space have more flexibility with seat assignments than crew. |
I really really hate that bucket 2 starts at 80.
And I really don't like our "improved" rsv system. It hasn't caused rsv to go more senior, all it does is fly those on the junior part of the category more. As of Wed, I will have flown every day on rsv this month (typical)... As a result, afterward I will be first up for short call, so again worked around the buckets and still first up to go. I was hoping for some upward movement on this bid, but with all the displacements continuing, that's unlikely. |

Aren't the aircraft at Hawaiin leased and not owned? Isn't that why their market cap stands at $320M? We can buy jets more easily then that.

Yes, they are. Like I said, it makes no sense... but...
I still think it's Jet Blue. We get A320s, and own the east coast lead turning AA. Add in the VA JV...... King me:cool: The bad news?? You guys are right, it'll suck to be junior. Ferd |

You are misunderstanding PBS in two different ways.
1. For starters, if your bid was just "Award Pairings = 3 days" (for other non-DAL guys, this is not the exact syntax we would use for PBS, but you get the idea) PBS would try to build an entire line of 3-day trips. It would only limit it to one if you had put the "Limit 1" qualifier next to it. If that truly was your only bid, then PBS would attempt to complete your line with ANY trip because the default preference of "Award Pairings" is always at the tail end of your preferences. 2. Further, "Else Start Next" only applies if your negative preferences (Prefer Off or Avoid Pairings) or a Set Condition preference cannot be honored. There is no such thing as "Award Pairings if...Else Start Next." This from the PBS Gouge. Else Start Next Else Start Next is a conditional instruction that causes PBS to jump to start processing the next bid group if a Prefer Off,Avoid Pairings, or Set Condition preference cannot be honored. You could put in a preference that stated "Avoid Pairings if Pairing Length Not 3 Days Else Start Next" which I believe was your original question. I'll do the avoid like you suggested, that's smarter. New at bidding lines. :D Thanks for the help. Oh wait a minute, herk are you really a pilot or did pbs get artificial intelligence ( like gunship said earlier) and create a screen name? :D http://kk.org/ct2/recaptcha1.jpg |

Ah, what I did was 1) pairings = 3 days off, 2) xyz days off else start next. Sorry for the abbreviation I am using the phone. I was thinking if its an else start next then that works for every line above as if it was for that line.

Lately in my category there has been little to no open time. But when a PCS run comes around, WS/PS/PW transactions occur. How the heck do people swap/pick up when there isn't any open time? Is scheduling hiding open time trips?

I'm a real pilot. I did work with PBS awhile back, but am just a "lurker" now. Of course the earlier pilot meant to talk about DMBS, not PBS when he was marvelling at the software's ability to deny x-day moves as if it were a puppeteer.
The only thing I wish PBS would do is display what your final bid was rather than just lock you out. Like I wish the submit function would be tired off not the entire interface and access. |

Crap, I don't want to merge minds. I personally think we will continue to continue to displace FO's to "fund" 717s and 737s. I don't think we will hire until winter of 2015. We need to start a giant pool everybody gets a guess. I'll take Feb 2015 for first new hire class. Who's in?
