Then how will you catch your war eagles in the Beef 'O Brady's Bowl?

Since everything that the Douglas runs over ends up getting sucked into the inlets ... a borescope inspection on a JT8D has to be like a doing a colonoscopy on Slowplay.

Since the nosewheel steering doesn't really work that well, the handling of the airplane would not be any more compromised than it already is. Can't you hear ops on the radio "can you taxi to the gate?"

I see why 80% of the pilots here do it.

Besides, they cut so many reserves on the 88, you don't want to touch weekends off reserve.
Yeah, weekend trips usually suck but reserve is for the birds!

$8.20 a gallon in Orlando for 100LL. The problem is not the price of fuel, it is local government and monopolistic FBO's who have figured out how to turn the Federally funded pavement into a cash cow for friends and family of the local politicians. Here is a sample bill IN ADDITION TO the fuel:

It used to be that Pop's FBO realized the promotion of aviation through reasonably priced rentals and training meant aircraft sales, repair work and tie down fees. Today what I see are predators killing off the few unfortunate animals that wander up to the water hole for a drink. That water hole is drying up and the remaining animals are endangered. As this has occurred the predators have become more vicious. Every time my bonanza gets chased down the ramp by a line guy in a golf cart I feel as though my wallet is being hunted.

In my consulting business (often working for airports) I make it clear that I will not pay these fees. If they try to charge me, I will either refuse to work for them, or add it to my bill and send it right back to them.

Wow, no wonder GA is dying!

I'm paying $4.65/gallon for 100LL but without all the added fees you're getting hit with.

The local FBO is down to only 1 instructor and 2 airplanes, where once he had 3 full time IP's and 5 airplanes. At $170/hr. dual, not too many people are able to afford flying lessons. He does a lot of engine overhaul and repair work, that's about the only thing keeping him in business.

Yet the talking heads on TV are mad because they have to pay bag fees...on top of their $200 tickets. GMAFB. I've got an idea; take the bus! See how that works out for you.

That's true of many of the big FBO chains that cater primarily to corporate jets - ie Signature, Millionair, et al. The Mom & Pop FBOs are still pretty reasonable (as much as it hurts to call $5/gal avgas cheap). There's just not many of them left. Here in the Twin Cities area there are maybe 1/2 of the FBOs that there were when I was learning to fly in the 90s, and more like 1/3 of the flight schools. It seems that being a predator, and serving primarily those with deep pockets, is about the only way to survive in GA anymore.

LOL CNBC had that story yesterday mid-day ;-)

Not only are the aft lavs in the 739 smaller than the standard 3x3, the forward facing wall to the cabin has been scallopped to let the last row seats recline...non-revers rejoice!

...Delta Airlines is one of the first carriers to order new on-board lavatories that will be smaller than the 3x3-foot-dimension toilets currently widely in use.
These reduced-sized bathrooms will be fitted to the airline’s 737-900 aircraft, and will allow Delta to fit four more seats into the planes’ economy-class cabins.
The airline says that passengers will not notice the difference, as the extra room will be harvested from space behind the sink units, which is currently wasted.
The wall of the lavatory will also be ‘sculpted’ to let the seats in front of it recline.
These lesser-proportioned loos will start to appear on the US-based airline’s fleet of 737 aircraft later this year, but only in the economy compartments.

Perhaps 3 for one exchange, one CS300 for 3 76-seaters ;-)
How long are those 717 leases again?
