I believe the last Crew Resources letter mentioned that, something about the 717 training pipeline, the DC9's staffing, displacements, etc. Basically they said they would be making 'adjustments' in the next few bids, while trying to avoid a training bottleneck and a shortage of warm bodies on the 9.

They are in a bind since they did not hire. They can't pull the pilots off the nines to soon and need to fly them through Christmas yet they need to fill the 717 slots now. It might be there is just no way to make the math work. That is why flight ops wanted to hire.

AME near SYR
Just moved near Syracuse & I'm looking for an AME. Any help or comments about the available docs would be very helpful.

It would be nice if the FAA page that lists regional AMEs could clarify whether they are trying to be your primary care physician or just require you to fog a mirror while they get their receptionist to fill out the paperwork.:D |

80, Timbo, Roadkill,
Thank You for your suggestions! You guys have a really common sense methodology that will work over time, and one even I can remember. I was running out of ideas. I've been using a boat registration number from the 1970's. For some stupid reason I can remember that one, but not one of the current ones. |

Denny However Denny, since you are an ER A, I would argue that you have very little experience living Roadkills reality, I don't know how long it took you to make captain but Roadkill and me have been with the company for 13 years and we are still in the bottom 15% of the seniority list. We can not hold a weekend off and have a line on a narrow body. We have another decade to even reach 50% on the seniority list. That is our reality. So our perspective is much closer to our reality than you give us credit for. Once again we are not looking for sympathy, it our reality and not yours but don't try to sugarcoat his realistic and accurate observations of our situation. It still amazes nearly every captain I fly with that I have been with the company 13 years and am still still in the bottom 15% of the seniority list. Generally this statement comes after they have pointed out that they were disappointed it took them 11 years to make captain. Roadkill would just like to have a weekend off as a narrow body FO after 13 years. I don't think that is an unreasonable wish. Unfortunately it is an unrealistic wish for about another half decade or so. At any rate I'm sure your career has been worse than ours. So feel free to point out how fortunate Roadkill is. And yes we realize there are United guys furloughed still from 1999, we are lucky to have a job, and all of that crap. Wow, I really vented on that one. |
