Lifted from the keyboard warriors on another site. LAX continues to add flights. It appears there are a few crumbs for the mainline folks as well. Congrats to those in the LAX base on the addition of a few more flights.

Delta is making more changes at LA.

New:
LAX-PDX 4x daily (CR9) starts 9/3

Added
Daily frequency on LAX-CMH(738) and LAX-IND(320). 8/20
2 more daily frequencies on LAX-SEA (all CR9) 9/3
LAX-BOS extended to 9/2 (73H)
LAX-MSY getting a 3rd daily flight 9/3(all 319)
LAX-TPA going to a morning flight again. 8/20 and going to 738 from 320)

With all the changes it puts Delta at nearly 120 flights per day.

two things, all this is in the Delta timetable and I tried to post times twice and anet crashed on me. So its someone elses problem now.

You're probably right, scoop.

Personally, I'm for more of a hybrid system like what UA/CO has. 88/90/319/320/737/738+717!!!! should all be on the same pay band... 321/739/757 is another logical band, the 767/753 could perhaps be another logical band, and then drop all the big dogs in the top tier one.

Someone is going to get very angry at what I just wrote. So, bring it on. :)

I have been talking about something along this same vein as well. As was previosly stated on here, we have do do something with our pay methodology to account for the change from a final average earnings defined benefit to our current defined contribution time value of money system.

What makes more sense? Banding of the pilots' initiation or the company's?

Does it make sense to band the 739 with the 757 when the industry is not finished consolidating? Would doing so give WB expectations and as a result become an unintended consequence that would have a greater negative impact on pay, and progression than a few thousand dollars a year in pay differential as we see now?

One thing did change, we don't HAVE a retirement anymore!

What we have now is a grossly underfunded (if you are in your 50's now) 401K "Savings Plan". It's not going to be nearly enough to retire on.

But hey look at the bright side, Delta is going to be buying back stock and paying shareholders a dividend with our ongoing One Billion per year pay cut and $5 Billion flushed DB retirement money, so we got that going for us!

Timbo you are a nice guy, but you are posting a lot of half truths on here. My DB plan was frozen at a value of about $1.1 million and I received about 310k from the silos and note. I am willing to guess you did better than that. we lost about 75 cents on the dollar from our frozen plan. My DC plan is worth over 450 k now and should be worth over 1 million easily 10 years from now. My PBGC benefit is worth $4800 per month upon retirement plus SS of about $2400 a month hardly qualifies me for the poor house. I am also a late 89 hire, so I am sure you made out better. I didn't include the value of my 401k either.

Almost true, Carl, but not quite. When someone else replies to a post by a person on your ignore list and quotes that person, the ignored person's post appears in the gray box.

I put T on my ignore list (in fact, he is the only one on it) a couple of months before the vote but occassionally still see what he is writing.
