Buddy pass help...
Looking for the number of buddy passes I have available. Does this equal the number of "available" riders in the "authorize my buddies" screen? Also does each trip use one pass. For example would BNA-ATL-CHS be one pass with a round trip using 2 passes? Yes I know that buddy passes stink but I'll be travelling with the nonrev. Thanks!

A status quo merger by class and category would have been less dynamic.
Pull and plug was intended to represent the equities presented in a dynamic list concept. It had it's effect, and once the Delta retirements kick in will continue to benefit some more than a functioning dynamic list would.
For others (based on historical and projected rates of attrition) it was a 6 year career set back. That was probably more of an effect than the Mediator or either party intended but no one anticipated the amount of consolidation that was coming. Had we known, a lot of us should have moved on to better opportunities (as a 76 lineholder I passed on my FedEx pool opportunity ... total idiot ... about 400 times a day).
The hook, "things will get better next year" keeps us coming back

Numerous things are contributing to the 7ER displacements. First of all, prior to the merger the 7ER was Delta's WB work horse. A side from a handful of 777s and 767-400s, they were all Delta had. Look at how much flying has shifted to the A330. The 7ER has suffered a loss of flying to the A330, B767-400, & lie flat seat mods. Add in 757 retirements, & the 7ER is simply overstaffed.
Not sure how. We were being monitored before. The company has already had their hand smacked once. The union is compiling data(just as they were a few years ago) & they'll use it in a grievance hearing if necessary. Bottom line, we now get 100 hours of no questions asked sick time. We did NOT get that before. If someone from the CPO calls you, don't answer. Write down what they want, & call your Rep. You're never required to answer your phone when the company calls.
How?
I hope that one day you will have the opportunity to know what actual advancement is but I'm a little skeptical for the next 5-7 years, since it appears they are going to use the 75/76 to fund the 717 and 737. Or at least that is what they said 2 days ago in the crew resources letter.
The company is using the loophole created by the "good faith basis" language in the contract to require verification from whomever it deems worthy of harassment. THAT's the bottom line. Call your rep all you want, we codified this behavior and now it's the law. Although I suspect this completely violates the HIPAA Act of 1996.
From a company email yesterday:
"Q5.5: My CPO calls me regarding a good faith basis to inquire into the medical reason for my use of sick leave. Do I need to provide verification?
A5.5: It depends. Based on the discussion, your CPO may either (1) consider the current sick leave occurrence to be verified, or (2) require you to provide verification."
So, "BASED ON THE DISCUSSION"- I may be required to provide verification...
I guess that pretty much leaves it up to the CPO to decide, doesn't it? If I don't answer the phone, I'm not going to be getting paid sick leave, am I? What will my reps do to have my sick leave paid if I don't have this "discussion"? I suspect the answer is "nothing" because we specifically authorized this new sick leave harassment policy. We authorized it and the company created a NEW DEPARTMENT to administer it. Enjoy!

Can we only use reserve payback days from a green slip on days that are above coverage? Thought the contract said you'd be awarded the payback days "with the concurrence of Schedualing"? Put my request in PCS and denied due to capped reserve days. So I volunteer to work for the company when they need help on a weekend and I get my payback days but I can't use them to get a weekend back?
Seriously?
Our Association fights hard for us, day in and day out. When I've brought questions to our Committees it has always shocked and delighted me that a quick response is had, even at 22:15. These folks work tirelessly, they have kids, they have jobs, they also feel a compulsion to help make the place better.
I don't know how many of these people you know, but to a man I have been impressed with their honesty and integrity.
If I might use a metaphor to explain my response to FlyZ's post, it is similar to a guy who works a long day to make money to support his family being accused of having an affair as soon as he walks in the door to the house he's paying for.
The common sense truth is that we do have a lot in common with management and every other employee of this Company. Some improvements are just that, common sense. We all can come together to fight the incursion of alien competitors into our marketplace. We all do better when our employer is stable and profitable.
In my short time I saw this company face liquidity problems (putting fuel on credit at, what was it, 18% interest briefly in March of 2008!?). We have come a long way and are going in the right direction.
There is some temporary pain that sucks for some members of the list (two MD's and one reinstatement for me, expect another MD this fall). But, smaller airplanes (that we asked for) and greater efficiencies (which avoid furloughs) added up to displacements. Overall, our list has seen pay increases.
IMHO it is one thing to disagree and debate policy. It is another to accuse folks of infidelity. Our Chairman is an honest man.

Other use is up to the discretion of Crew Scheduling, or in other words, NEVER.
Which portions of this letter are lies? Are you saying that since the TA was ratified every upgrade has been staffed via displacements? Can you show me how "vacation any" decreases staffing? Can you prove that if the TA was voted down we would not have entered mediation? The fact that you as an individual were willing to call what you feel was a bluff doesn't guarantee that we wouldn't have. Does the author of this letter give a timeframe for hiring?
I'm not seeing lies in that letter.
