I don't think I can watch. I did enjoy the previous episodes - although as SATA pointed out in a different thread - there was some spurious drama added that I could live with.
The new episode teasers are just too much. The engine start noise you point out, the repo guy using an auto gps to find the next airport, "I think I have enough fuel, screw it, we're going". Then the runway lights are out and he again throws caution to the wind (pun intended) with a curse and grunt and firewalls it. Then there's the scene of him being arrested at gunpoint - spread eagled on the ground. I'll DVR it and try to watch tomorrow. |

That's him! I'd recognize him anywhere now. I was in the sports bar minding my own business drinking water when Timbo and his gang of 777 thugs walked in. They held me while Timbo poured beer down my throat. Something about now that I'm a Delta pilot, I better start acting like one!
I'm still recovering. :D Carl Hey now, I resemble that remark! You know we 777 guys are a Hard Luck Group. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVbnDBBtg3I Thanks for the brews Carl, it was great to finally meet you. Next time you'll have to go to HKG with me and let you shoot the 17 mile visual straight in (no ILS) approach, in FLCH using only raw data! :D We 777 guys usually wear our Dave Clarks over our hats, and we always hand fly every approach, with the autothrottles, autopilots, FD's and instrument illumination lights off, while the PM makes DC 3 engine noises. Only weenies need instruments like Airspeed Indicators and Altimeters. Who's got a cigarette, I need a smoke, calms me down. I said Gear Down dammit! :D Don't be a fool Blackie, she's not worth it! Pull up! Pull up! |

You need 50% of the total pilot group to hold a new election for representation rights. To win that election, you must get 50%+1 of all the pilots who decide to vote. Carl I sat back for some months before renewing my card, but recently sent in a new one. If they are able to get the number of current cards to the amount needed for a vote, I may or may not vote for DPA. But I think it is a positive for the Delta pilot that it come to a vote. Not everyone can volunteer and I've written/spoken to my reps. I've contributed to PAC. I feel ignored, and that the big machine doesn't care much what I say or do. My hope is that bringing this to a head will finally be enough to get my union to wake up and hear the voices who are saying--LISTEN TO US. Sending in a card is not a commitment to voting for DPA. |
Good points, Gunship.
If we were to do a toss up of the unions, now is the time to do it, not at contract negotiation time. My reservations stand about the DPA, but it will be interesting to see if they get the final oomph to push for a vote. Given the outcome of the "scope improvement opportunity," that could be what kills their chances or pushes them over the top. We'll see. |

I know some people can't get past Tim no matter what. The fact he's said he won't be running for any of the offices doesn't matter. In the minds of some, a few overly emotional emails is worse than ignoring our surveys, negotiating what they wanted, then hard selling the TA with threats of doom if it failed. To each his own.

I don't know who GM is. I do know that not a single person has been elected to a single office. It can't happen until after decertification. These guys are only running the decertification process.

No question that's true. The whole top half of the fNWA list was really angry about the targeted DC, the bottom half of the fNWA list was for it. If you're not going to support DPA because you don't like some of the guys that support it, I don't know what can be said. You'll probably just hope that ALPA can be changed from the inside I guess.

That's quite a leap. I don't know how you can assume "my way or the highway" negotiating from people who've not been elected to anything.

And that's certainly fine. We probably won't get your vote for decertification. But if we do win the vote, like I told Hoser I hope you participate and vote for who you think are the best people.
Carl In the end I wants what's best for Delta pilots. |

This is not a murder investigation! Airline pilots....., performance......, NO link! |
