The longbody stat they are always repeating is lowest cost per seat mile, not most profitable. I've also heard that the 747 had the lowest cost per seat mile before they put in the lie-flats and reduced the seat count. Not that it matters much.

Now I'm hearing that they are going to increase the seat count in the 757-200s that are going to stay awhile to something closer to 200.

I'm hearing that the the 319's, 320's, 757-200's, and 757-300's will all be getting cabin reconfigurations. More seats (and fewer FC seats in the 757's) and fewer galleys. FA's are going to be thrilled.

FA's might have to actually work. What a concept!

Good point--to a point. As it is the company overloads them with minimal staffing, which is unfair to everyone. I flew a completely full 757 ATL-UIO, business class meal service in FC and hot meal in coach--all with four FAs. That's not fair to anyone, including the pax in the back who don't get anything for two hours.

In earlier eras, DAL staffed 757s with six FAs, then went down to five, now routinely staff with FAA mins of four. If the FAA allowed it I have no doubt that they would staff a 747 with one.

Herk,

You are right but DAL is giving our passengers what they want. People always complain about lack of service by airlines but mostly purchase based on only one thing............price. At times airlines have tried to charge a little more for a better product and people would not pay for it.

It was easy to be critical of DAL when we were losing billions but a little harder now that we are making billions. I agree it makes it harder for the FAs but that is no different to what is happening to most employees in most industries, including us.

If the pax in the back truly don't like it they will not come back. If we keep that flight full then I assume that they are OK with it.

From what I recall, there just weren't that many 757-300s built. NWA got a batch, CAL got some, and so did ATA. Only the NWA birds had Pratts.

Is there a way to look at old rotations you've flown in icrew? Every time I try the rotation function it says no data.

Look the rotation via the flight time log in iCrew. The rotations under the monthly schedule get pulled down after 2 months or so
