Congrats, 80!

That'll learn anyone for saying something as stupid as Michael Jordan wasn't that good.

Well... poop. Sorry FTB. Congrats 80. That's what a championship game should look like though (even if the wrong team won in the end....)

Now that college football is over, what are we going to talk about until September??

Thanks! Where's ftb been tonight??

Whenever we needed a boost at the home games, my wife went for a walk to the store at the FSU stadium. I sent my wife up to bed at the end of the first half.

Coincidence??

What an amazing game. Congrats to ftb for an amazing season and a very well played game!

Excellent point!

I don't know. Maybe he's superstitious and he didn't want to post during the game.

They did have an amazing season though. That Georgia game provided me with a story I will tell for a long time.

Keep in mind a few things:

1) 117 only allows FDP extensions for "unforeseen circumstances"... Known weather or traffic delays are not valid excuses for FDP extensions.

2) 117 does not permit extensions for issues that are within the airline's control.

3) If the extension is greater than 30 minutes, the airline must submit a report to the FAA describing the circumstances of the extension, and outline the corrective action to prevent it from happening again. This corrective action must be in place within 30 days.

4) Any pilot that accepts two extensions (greater than 30 minutes) without an intervening 30-hour rest period has violated FARs.

Or so I've heard.

From what I was told, basically the only people the out of base white slips beat out are short call pilots.

I tried to out of base white slip a few months this year and found out that they weren't nearly as easy to get as I thought they would be.

OBWS's are awarded anytime in the manual coverage process. That is anytime after the 7 am window the day prior. In the coverage ladder they fall after in base reserves but before any premium flying.

ABSOLUTELY. Flight Ops may have put out another "change the contract via memo...memo" but just because the FARs allow for MEL relief for crew rest facilities doesn't mean that our contract does.

DAL has no more power to allow for MEL relief not permitted by our contractual language than they had the ability to schedule 16 hour duty days under the old FAR 121 language--the FARs permitted it, but our contract never did.

For that matter the company has no more right to amend our reserve rules or try to ramrod MEL relief for crew rest facilities via memo than they have the right to "adjust" our pay scales via memo.
