Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
For a new hire - even better. Means more hiring probably.
For a 777 FO - less exciting because unless he wants positions more on the right side of the chart. In fact, the 717 and M88 Captain positions might be the same pay, not higher because the FOs might be able to get GS as a Senior FO.
People here are trying to say that because there haven't been a Captain position on aircraft X in base Y there hasn't been growth. Well - maybe not for THEM but for many others there has been.
But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's nice for all FOs to have the opportunity of 717A if they want it.
Thanks for posting that. Despite what people say, it's nice to see additional Captain positions. As a junior FO, those are all higher paying than me - great.

Someone asked about GS while on a PD. Here's all that the contract has to say about picking up any flying while on a PD or APD, from sect 23I:
A pilot will not be awarded a white slip, GS, GSWC, IA, IAWC, yellow slip, or swap for
23 a rotation that is scheduled to operate on a day on which APD appears on his schedule.
24 10. A reserve pilot will not be awarded a GS, IA, or yellow slip for a rotation that is
25 scheduled to operate during a day of his PD.
Looks like a regular line holder CAN do anything he wants on top of a PD,
a reserve guy CAN'T,
and no one can fly on top of an APD day.

Honestly I think it just got lost. I mean most U.S. Americans don't even have maps.
I love cats. I love every kind of cats. I just want to hug them all, but I can't; can't hug every cat.
Props to the J-schools of the world though, srsly. They are cranking out some super great stuff right now.
For the millionth time, years of service, ie DOH at your previous airline, is MEANINGLESS. Relative %, status and category is it. Lots of people were affected by the SLI and subsequent merger efficiencies. Bet lots of fNWA also moved up after the merger. Don't know who started it......but let it go please.

Certainly.
However, if that number is in the ballpark, it will greatly impede our ability to negotiate a contract anywhere near "restoration." Or much more than "cost neutral," for that matter.
If it's just a matter of convincing a small number of "non-automatic" folks to accept a mediocre TA, we'll see more of these mediocre TAs (and more full-bore sales jobs from the company/DALPA sharpshooting a very small demographic). It's the path of least resistance.

AvWeek states Delta will have a widebody RFP out by the end of next month and a order by year end. Hope they are right.
