Thanks for posting how the 1.5 worked at NWA. I had a pilot tell me that the max you could get for the most part was 7.5 hours which is exactly what you are saying. Most Delta guys don't understand that.

You have to understand the overtime in the context of the entire system.

I'm all for looking at doing things differently, but they need to be totally vetted.

I'm sure it gets entered into the cost matrix. My only point is we shouldn't have a system where some bases get benefits like that where others don't. I'm not advocating taking it away from anyone, and that wouldn't be legally possible anyway. But we need to insist on equal protection for equal work. You shouldn't get worse benefits to take care of a sick or dying loved one because you are in the wrong base when it happens.

I wish we would get rid of it! and go back to the ALV limit we used to have..thanks alpa for giving that one away

I was referring to the pickup limit. I assume you're talking about RSV?

I don't want to get into this again, but there are now offsets that we didn't have pre-C2012 that will actually make you full earlier than the "good old days".

How many times have you been forced over ALV on reserve? How many months since C2012 has reserve guarantee been greater than 70?

It's not apples to apples.

Which is exactly what happened.

Good analysis. The bean counters thought they were saving money by cutting GS pay to 1.5. We at ALPA, and even the crew skeds (Dewey Jenkins) couldn't convince them it was a bad idea. They had to learn the hard way. I don't want to learn the hard way that 1.5>80 is a bad idea.

I've also said that holiday pay is a good idea and would mitigate PBS unstacking, but alas no traction on that issue.

I agree, and would add I'm all for looking at doings things better, assuming we can demonstrate they would be better for the group.

GS pay starts at 75 hours or the ALV whichever is less. In addition you can take 5 hours out of the bank up to 60 negative. This in effect means the GS trigger varies from 67 to 72 hours a month depending on the ALV. It is not the ALV.

You can only go up to negative 30 hours and positive 60 hours in the FSB.

Malaria IS a big deal. It is NOT the flu. It is forever. My altruistic thing is to donate blood every 56 days (if possible) Africa trips take you off the list for a year, and Malaria takes you off forever. It is not a disease to take lightly, and frankly I am absolutely shocked you are so cavalier about it.
