There is no rush to replace them, which is why the 330 is a bridge order to more airplanes coming later in the decade. The GulfAir 67's and the domestic 300's will be the first to go...

Yeah.. replaced with 15-20 A321s or 73-900s. (LCP meeting)

Smaller, but I will concede there are more of them.

Ignorance Alert

What does an A-350 do that a 330 doesn't? Range? Pax? Cargo?

I'll admit I don't know anything about the 350. Is it significantly bigger than a 330?

We happened to catch a break from the Italian courts on this one, but it is clear that the only chance we have to keep "them" out is through legislative/policy avenues. They want into the US market bad and have the cash to buy the access. We need to be using every advantage we can to hold them off for as long as possible.

UPS Commute out of JFK

Anyone use UPS to commute out of JFK and if so, what are the options to get over to the cargo side?

Italian government and courts do business the old school way. Emirates is going to have to pony up more bribe money.

I guess another question is why doesn't the US prohibit this bastardization of route authorities. We "own" one end of the route don't we? Oh yeah, Emirates is throwing $ around in DC like nobody's business.

I stand by my suggestion to fill out the C2A's and give a few bucks to the PAC. It may not work in every situation, but at least we won't have sat idly by while they pillage our flying.

I predict a split order for 20ish 777-300ERs to replace 747 and 30 787-9 or 350-800s. The 350 will have been flying almost 5 years by the time we start getting them which I guess is long enough for RA to have some data. Course if they re-engine the 330, that might take the cake if it is significantly cheaper than a 350, which is why I'm sure Airbus doesn't really want to do that.
