Pay their hotels and give them positive space and they would be beating down the doors. Lot's of highly experienced former whale instructors choosing to fly the line because of those 2 items..

Yeah, it's sad that nobody on the fleet or "who can hold it" are interviewing for the positions... If nobody wants it they will keep looking until they find seniority list pilots willing to do it.. or they can go looking for more DGS guys.

I'd prefer pilots "on the fleet" also, but reality is vast majority don't want to work in the schoolhouse.

Heh, MSP is rapidly becoming the most coveted base among ultra-junior guys, with all the CP/XJ flows. In my class I think 3/4 of us were planning on commuting from MSP . Might be a good time for me to move somewhere that *doesn't* have 6 months of winter per year... :o.

On the positive side, I'll be at 50% seniority on NYC 88B pretty quickly if this AE is indicative of how many newhires they'll be sending there! :D

You are either super-junior or just bidding the crappiest, lowest-time trips, and then doing nothing to swap for higher-time trips.

Most guys I fly with have expressed surprise with how much MORE they made in 2013 vice 2012.

I made over 10,000 dollars less in 2012 than 2011, basically right at my 2010 numbers. There was a big jump for me in 2013, but that was because they critically understaffed my category and massive amounts of green slips were doled out. Trying to pin that jump on C2012 would be disingenuous and oversimplification at best.

No - the profit sharing was HIGHER. 6.67% of pay last year; 8.26% of pay this year.

It should have been higher given the massive increase in profit from 2012 to 2013, but we conceded that.

I have done the msp-nyc commute. I highly recommend avoiding that. The problem will NYC is the company's line construction is garbage. Early starts and late finishes, non-commutable on both ends. The Flying is pretty good the crews are great. The only downside is the pairing construction I refuse to spend 6 days on planes for a 4 day trip.

Holey moley! Now that's a bid I can talk about!

NERD 04-25-2014 09:50 AM

Me thinks we are going to start seeing some very high seniority numbers going to the 88 and 717 A positions as guys choose to get more senior in their current positions or choose to sit it out without a training freeze and possibly get a higher bid in the next year or so
