Very good synopsis.
United pilots are the new lab experiment airline management is taking note of. The Aer Lingus, United arrangement will happen, ALPA will follow the money and turn their backs on United. They only have 5300 pilots now, down from 10,000 plus. DAL, NWA is now ALPA, replacing United pilots long standing majority. ALPA will be an impotent bystander, collecting dues from United pilots, untill they sign up their new "brothers and sisters" from the new Aer Lingus alter ego pilots. Deja Vu all over again. |

Click the link below oh bystander, Delta ALPA "brother".
http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/662453-post8.html You might want to keep your east revisionism in check. The judge is going to make you pay dearly for your "brother" hood.:D And please keep to your own threads on your anti-ALPA crusade, mousketeer! |

I'm confused. I thought you wanted all Delta flying to be done by Delta pilots?
If we had the "inclusive" "perfect" scope, the FO seat on an RJ would part of Delta mainline. Those RJ FO's would be making regional wages or there wouldn't be many (if any) of those jets on the property, reducing the total number of pilot jobs. You can't suspend economics when you "include." |

Today we're in position to weather this economic downturn better than any other legacy airline, and to restore our pay and conditions in 2012 should the company be solidly profitable.
The company's latest profitability has nothing to do with restoring our contract in 2012. The only concern is getting too far ahead of the rest of the industry. That can bite you because the company may not be able to compete. But nobody should care about DAL's profit in 2012 because it WILL be a loss. The accounting department will see to that. Carl |

And you dance around the question again. Does ALPA not have conflicting interests? And would Mainline RJ wages be equal to Regional wages. Looks to me like our CRJ-900 rates are better. I'm not too good to fly RJs, & the rates on our PWA are livable for me. Much better then Regional wages.

Carl Anyone who thinks we are responsible for the Co.'s profit or loss by virtues of our contract needs to be shown the door. There is collaborative engagement, and then there is Stockholm Syndrome. |

This is the kind of attitude that management must dearly love. They must think of this as just too easy...like taking candy from a baby. Slowplay, do you know how easy it is for a profitable company to show a loss? Do you know how easy it is for a solidly profitable company to show a not so solid profit? Your freshman mentality is a recipe for never making gains.

Carl Nice personal insult, btw. Freshman mentality...maybe you ought to start a worksheet with Ken as well. Or do a "youtube" video. I stand in awe of the mighty groundskeeper and the "outstanding" contract his varsity squad was able to negotiate in bankruptcy. Yup, that's it! Of course, we don't see you around much anymore. You growing potatoes to mash? The company's latest profitability has nothing to do with restoring our contract in 2012. I'm sure schooled with that one! There's a real record out there of pilot groups working for unprofitable companies getting industry leading contracts! I guess boxes are more important than people, as UPS and FedEx lead the industry (oops, their companies are profitable too). LUV's pay sucks (oops, profitable). Maybe your wisdom can be passed down to the underclass...can you name any pilot groups that got industry leading contracts while their company was losing money? |
