Maybe he shouldn't have brought it up. Carl brings up that he walked the picket line, but nobody called for him to "prove" it. Maybe he was conveniently off during that time and sat on his fat *** eating Ruffles.. I'm not calling him out either, because frankly I don't care whether he did or didn't, but there is a double standard here. Sailing said his job was threatened, there were 49 DAL pilots that found themselves at the business end of a personal lawsuit. I believe him, and imho he doesn't have to "prove " it to a bunch of chest thumping internet thugs. (not talking about you newK) I think he went way above what's necessary by offering his phone number
This episode is revealing a flaw that this place has (maybe even one that all of us have, as individuals): All too often we attack the person instead of the issue. We draw a line and figure who is on the opposite side of it, then forevermore attack them. No matter what they say. It could be 2+2=4, or the sky is blue, or the United States is a great country, it doesn't matter. If they are on the other side of the line, we find something wrong with what they say. Except, no one is 100% right or wrong all the time. That goes for sailing fun, tsquare, carl sparkler, DALPA, Delta Air Lines, the government, the anti-government, The Federalist, The anti-Federalist, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, President Obama, Mitt Romney, or anyone else. If we ever learned to focus on the issues, instead of the person or entity, we would keep ourselves out of trouble. /Rant over. |
Didn't quote them but the last posts by NewK and Ferd were excellent!

I'm with Index on this. sailingfun tried to generate some mileage based on an unsubstantiated claim that he was personally threatened by a CEO. When called on it, he punted. He even resorted to an "I won't post private emails here" straw man.
Further, george tg just slapped him silly on his "efficiency" babble. Sailingfun, here's a little advice: stick to posting facts..."just the FACTS ma'am", from your sources.. Not your interpretation or conjecture. Don't try to do management's and DALPA's jobs of lowering our expectations. We don't need any more of that. You might even consider bolstering our efforts to be better compensated, instead of ****ing on them. If you stick to that formula, you will regain a lot of goodwill here. |

Great post. The only thing keeping this forum a good source of info is guys like you, Denny, and Ferd calling out tool-like behavior (I've had my share with one person in particular) when you see it.

You know what, you guys are really turning me off to coming here much any more. You may not agree with Sailingfun, I can see that but questioning his integrity, I don't agree with that. Weren't most of us Officer's and all of us Gentlemen? I'm really kinda disgusted with the turn things have taken the last few days.
Denny ^^^^^^^^ This! ;) Sailing said it happened. I believe him. Some don't believe him - that is also fine. But lets try to keep the discourse at an adult level. If you disagree with someone on here please keep it objective and we will all benefit from both sides of the discussion. What is important is that DALPA be able to answer managements preposterous and totally bogus claim :) that we as a Pilot group are inefficient, and also that we not let them define "pilot efficiency" on their terms, unchallenged.
