DALPA will say we got a billion dollars out of them without showing any data to prove it. MEC will pursue massive sales and fear campaign. You and sailingfud will do what you always do. Then it will pass 60-40.

It all depends on when Richard tells our "union" that it's time to sign a new contract.

Carl

Why don't you spare me your usual halitosis of predicting what I will do. It's your predictable opinion based on your complete desire to divide the group. Remember, DAL hired pilots that would never strike, right? You have no evidence of what I will or won't do when the time comes.

Respectfully Sailing, what you state is incorrect. You might be lost in translation.

First, US/AMR have group category aircraft. Their group 4 includes 777 and 767-4, 787 etc.

On 2015, we cease getting raises.
We will be stopped out as follows.

777A 12 year = $270
764A 12 year = $255

Then, on January 1, 2016, US/AMR receives a 16.5% raise.

They will be paying their 764 pilots $20 more per hour and the equivalent for 777.

We likely will be in section 6 still. They will get a 3.5 in 2017 and 2018 as well if needed. If we are still negotiating in 2018, which even you eluded to yesterday, then they will have readily surpassed us. And there you have the $40 difference in pay.

Even at 2016, they exceed us.

And to answer your last question, "By the way if their contract was so good what does that make ours?"

Answer: Not as good. And for you recollection, this is the contract they negotiated on the emergence from BK.

Interesting that you view their negotiating prowess from the perspective of a snapshot. I know you don't believe in compounding interest and TVM, but why don't you take your research skills and go back about 10 years and project their earnings and personal investment growth forward to today? I'm not justifying where we are right now, but here again we have a case of someone taking a single point in time and using that as a foundation to "prove" that our current situation sucks. So how about this too: Maybe our contract isn't as good as American's. The fact that they negotiated it on emergence from BK is really irrelevant because we had already set the bar. DO you think they would have gotten what they did had we still been in a BK situation? They hadn't been able to get much improvement for the previous 10 years or so... Management knew that they would be back asking for more and they probably decided to throw a few bones and cut that off early. So, I say that is a great thing because it means we have someone to pattern from. The bar must be raised. Maybe it IS our turn. Which is a great thing.
