We likely will be in section 6 still. They will get a 3.5 in 2017 and 2018 as well if needed. If we are still negotiating in 2018, which even you eluded to yesterday, then they will have readily surpassed us. And there you have the $40 difference in pay.

APA had the advantage of negotiating while in bankruptcy. TIC

How many years has DALPA and DAL been telling us that Alaska is good for our operation? Thousands of lost positions, displacements in some cases leading to broken families with two working adults and here we are. Now look what we are dealing with, having to waste money bringing down the behemoth we created. I won't even start on the DCI fiasco. And there DALPA was on all those contracts and cutouts to section one, "vote yes guys." Enough is enough.

The casual yes voter should be taken out back and whipped.

Thousands of lost positions?

According to the APA public web page, a contract comparison with the APA new contract, Delta, United, Southwest and some other carriers was completed and posted on their website by their negotiating committee on Feb. 13, 2014.

Can anyone get a copy and email/PM me with it? I think it would be interesting to see and maybe clear up some misconceptions... Did I use the right word Carl?:)

Yes. How many majors operate a domestic international hub without a narrow body pilot base? We have zero narrow body based pilots in SEA and 80-ish 737 CA seats at LAX. That's 160-ish NB pilots on the west coast! How is that even possible? Look at section one. Look at SEA will never be a hub regardless of the number of daily departures. It's exempted from Section 1 altogether. Look at the Alaska agreement, LAX is exempted. So if another major airline is flying our passengers out of these hubs unrestricted I would say yes, thousands. Didn't Western have 1,400 pilots at LAX alone? Who took over that lift? What part of our contract allowed us to dismantle an entire coast and outsource it?

Where exactly do you think Skywest, Compass and the rest of DCI are flying those 325 CRJ900s and E175s?

You know what would make me an ALPA supporter and many others? Acknowledgent that we f--- up over the years and that going forward there will no longer be side deals under the table, selling out good careers, a promise to defend pilots from the various threats and extract leverage when possible. Do those things and we have a deal. Till then I'll keep my 155s thumping away.

I like Delta as much as the next guy, probably more so. I do believe mid to upper level managers lack respect for our unity.

Unity will not come from blading DPA. It will come when it's obvious there is no other group of individuals that have our best interests. After LM and TO I am not a fan.
