Actually they had a July 4th BBQ party at the NH. Pretty nice Delta event. We even got to throw eggs at the staff -- all for charity.

Still, too many jeans, polo shirts, sneakers and Rolexes.

Contract 2012 was management needing access to the DCI synergies, that's why there was the desperation on mgt's part. However, those synergies won't pay off in the long run because we can't staff the planes. The EtD is a failure, because very few if any of the candidates can even get pass the Delta knowledge test.

If that's true, they will just lower either the required scores or de-difficultize the questions. :D

I agree that EtD is a Sesame Street band aid on a full puncture spear wound.

The synnergies at DCI that were leveraged (including the amount of upgauging to mainline we've seen so far) have definately helped DL address the crisis though. Not enough to fix it, but its helped.

I thought that too, but pilots are running the interview process, and Delta pilots aren't going to lower their personal standards, and the Endeavor pilots are ****ed about the EtD. The only way to lower the standards would be to kick pilots out of the interview process at both mainline, and Endeavor. No one with at least two firing neurons would go the civy route to become a pilot now - hundreds of thousands in debt to make $20K a year.

How about we change this conversation to straight compensation.....nothing but pay rates. 767 F/O pay in 2004 was around 187 per hour. Now, 10 years later, it's 150 per hour....not including inflation. The FIRST thing that needs to be done is get the pay rates, DAY ONE, of C2015, to 2004 rates. After that, improvements to JV Scope, Codeshare scope, and then RJ scope. Gotta get this done.

No. Some guys want to get them all out of the way as quick as possible. I haven't been on reserve for a long time but the most I ever did was 3 in a row.

FWIW I did 4 in a row last month with zero calls on NYC 73NB. They also gave me all 7 short calls. The category has not been very fun lately.

Nope. Fail. Totally.

Gotta hide that increase in compensation or Wall Street goes bat****. Give me 5:30/day and the same payrate. More /day of vacation. Training time in the sim is 1:1 (just like the instructors)... Fill my 401(k) in the first quarter of the year.... things like that. Straight pay rates increase is a losing, and stupid goal. Sorry.

GogglesPisano 07-04-2014 01:09 PM

Fully funding the 401k would be a nice (and not so obvious -- to the media -- anyway) way of getting a yes vote out of me. A start, anyway. Since most of us are partly funding, it would be an immediate and substantial raise.
