My point is twofold.
Why do we need such a position, now? Emphasis now. Why are we creating a position that basically was covered under the Communication Chairman under full FPL? |

Agreed. In your opinion then, is there a substantial difference in the influence that the MEC has, for example, over the Negotiating Committee vs. over the Communications Committee (through the MEC Chairman)?
But in practice, the MEC Chair is an "ex-officio" member of the committee. Further, at DAL, the Strategic Planning Committee, serves as the "research & planning" arm as well (the Chair is a full time flight pay loss position), and all of those positions are appointed. Nu |

TFB! We have families and other obligations beyond delta. They can't expect people to fly 12 days straight and totally ignore their bids because of their poor planning. Even if someone lives in base this is unsat.

There has been letter after letter put out by both the company and DALPA on why the 88 and 320 rotations have degraded. The company is running strictly a min credit solution this summer on rotation construction for the 88. You can read any one of several letters for the reasons why. The problem is not because of the rotation changes but the fact those changes have all been removed until fall.

Thanks for the Rotation Construction Survey reminder Buzz. I just did it, like you said, about 10 minutes.
DO IT NOW!! It closes tomorrow!! There is a 1500 word comment section at the end, be sure to air your grievances there! I told them how much we HATE 12 day trips! http://www.surveysoftware.net/hostal/DLRotation2014.htm |

Also, trip mix has nothing to do with available days off in PBS. That is purely a function of what days off have been awarded to more senior pilots. |

My schedule has gotten worse on the 88 due to these rotation construction changes. My schedule next month has 11 days straight of nothing but 4 day trips. On trip finishes in the morning then start another 4 day in the evening. I wish we had it in the PWA that requires a minimum 1-2 days off in domicile between trips that only the pilots can waive. I can put it in PBS but it is just going to ignore the request.
That does sound like a tough schedule - but I don't think it is as a result of the RCC survey. We just waited too long to start hiring. I assume you bid the minimum base layover and were denied. One good thing with all the new hires going into the '88 your seniority should rapidly improve. Scoop |
