Hope ya'll have a good one.

If your sim instructor is also a football fan (most of them are) this could work to your advantage. There's been many a time my IP has said to me,

"We could do more but...the game starts at 8:30 so that's enough, let's get out of here!" :D

Nobody I've spoken to says they will. Not one. Flew with lots of over 60 guys on this trip and none were even remotely tempted to take it. I wonder what flight ops will do if not one 744 guy takes it.

With reserves thrown in the mix, and the need to cover out of base like we do now (more likely in a micro base) I think any savings would be negated. I also recall the justification made many times by crew resources that it's cheaper to DH crews than to establish a small base. So what's changed?

And I've only heard one 777 Capt., who will be 65 in March anyway, say he would take it. I'm sure anyone who is in their final 6mo. will take a hard look at it.

Anyone know how many of those guys (age 64.5+) are on the Whale today, and system wide? There's a few (5?) on the 777 in ATL, not sure about DTW 777.

Well, maybe the plan will backfire. No 74As and 25 guys from other categories. The, aren't we right back where we started?

Displace 25 of you. It's pretty simple really. There will be 25 fewer 747 captains on December 2. If they go early, they get a nice signing bonus. If they don't, they get an all expenses paid trip to Virginia Avenue.

The 777 guys will not go early even if they take the deal. They will get a bunch of money and stay until they leave naturally. Book it.

That's obvious, thus not what I'm referring to. I mean if no 744A's take the deal, will the company really pay 25 non-747 guys...or will they try to change/cancel the whole thing?

Don't know if any of us can really say that at this point.

I guess they could try... from my understanding there is really nothing in it for the company at this point, so I doubt they would. And I can fully understand why the whale bubbas wouldn't want to sign.

I hope the whole thing falls apart frankly. But if I were in my last 12 months on either of those two.. I'd have already signed the papers.

I agree, born a month early though. Wish mom had held on a little longer.
