My wife hates it, that's why I love to watch it. I hated the Notebook, that's her Get Even movie!

Speaking of which, American Sniper comes out today! I might make her watch that! :D (and then beat her with a herring!)

Bradley Cooper's drawl is terrible in the previews.

I clearly screwed up what was a light-hearted attempt at humor, to the point where some folks seriously thought I was advocating physical violence in the workplace and PMed me threatening my job. And several folks replied in the thread offended so clearly the post wasn't perceived as the satire/joke it was intended as-- my fault, sorry to have ruffled feathers and riled guys up.

It was intended to be a joking "that's a bad idea" post in an intentionally "over the top" tone, and I thought it would be obvious to all readers. The whole thing, as Bucking Bar alone apparently noticed, was a paraphrase from Monty Python's "The Holy Grail", where the Knights of Ni respond "over the top" and threaten to kill and eat the Sir Robin. Apparently not everyone is as conversant with the movie, as I thought "And should be beaten about the head and shoulders with a herring if not worse" would make everyone reading the post say "Oh, he was parodying Monty Python here", as it's the only place in history where anyone was ever threatened with death by being beaten with a herring (fish).

While I do have a serious opinion on allowing new changes to the swap board, that post wasn't intended to seriously convey it. Again, my sincere apologies for what was obviously a poorly executed joking post.

Perhaps, but the movie was outstanding (IMO)

I tried to send one in a year ago and was told by the ATL CPO that it has to be done via AirlineApps.com now. Have your bud add your company email to his Airline Apps application, you will get an email soliciting your recommendation, which will be added to his app.

Go to DeltaNet-Admin-Pilot Selection-How to recommend a Pilot, and there's an email address for the "you need to interview this person!" recommendation. It's much more effective than the Airline Apps recommendation. They actually pull their app, score it, and if they score high enough they get an interview. I used it recently for a buddy and he got the interview invite about 2 weeks later. If you just do the Airline Apps rec, their app is still stuck in "the pile."

Maybe, it looks like a swept back wing not a delta to me, but that could just be the angle of the picture. A frontal view would make it a lot easier to tell. Either that, or I'm still providing humor for the longest running gag in the thread.

Mike,

No worries - you are not the first and won't be the last to get caught up in this. Basically a few years ago someone corrected another poster on a mis-identification of an aircraft. Since then, every now and then someone will innocently correct an intentional mis-identification and then basically all hell breaks loose.

It usually starts out with something believable - a F-14 called a F-15 but quickly turns into a C-5 being called a T-38.

Scoop :)

I read the book and plan on seeing the movie but a few things in the book that really rubbed me the wrong way.

His teammates all talk about what a quiet, unassuming, modest professional Chris Kyle was. In the book, several times, he talks about getting in bar fights all the time with the other seals, beating the shhhh crap out of local guys. These guys are trained killers and they're getting in fights all the time? I have more respect for our special forces guys than to believe they were out getting in fights on weekends just for sport. There were other instances where it felt like he was being boastful, which was contrary to what everyone says his character was.

I am still pumped to see the movie, it looks well done and I love military/war movies.
