Apparently the only real issues they are having with N/S standardization are the N guys learning how to balance the workload with the new PF/PM switchoff. It's "suggested" (hint hint
) that CA's do the walkaround when practical (i.e. not raining, snowing, or anything other than warm and sunny, haha) to help relieve the FO's workload when they are PF. Coming from experience, it sure does help if the CA does the walkaround before a transcon leg. Loading all the waypoints and winds plus walking around can be a real time crunch on a 50 minute hub turn with an aircraft swap.
Also, they are still observing some CA's always doing the WARTS brief instead of the PF doing it. CA's are only to augment the abnormals section and add anything that is needed after the briefing is complete.
As far as the south side- more stuff will be coming out in regards to DAL60. They were accepted into ASAP and information will be sent out accordingly. Fatigue and optical illusions are key words...

Hey ACL, did we ever figure out how a "New Category" is defined? I'm assuming to the companies benefit, it would be any category that did not exist in the individual companies prior to SOC, e.i., SLC320 or MSP88. Although MEMDC9 seems like a new category to me, I would imagine contractually the company and DALPA would not consider this so? What's the read on this out there? Have not found this in print.

So, no MEM9B is not a new seat to a four balled Tomcat!

Until Lima was extended, 27R was just to the left of the only full-length taxiway. If, for whatever reason, the dark runway didn't stick out, but both Lima and Mike did, then Mike, being the dirty darker straight line left of the shiny new Lima, would look a lot that what you used to expect: 27 R, just left of the lighter color Lima.
Makes a little more sense after going through ATL for the first time in a long time...

The 73-700 datalink loads the FMC flight plan and winds. For the 800, it has to be hand loaded. Not sure about the rest of the Boeings.

So, this MOAB rumor is suggesting that there is more flying out there to be covered and, for the most part, people should be getting mroe senior in their position. (Not: They are just opening things up so people can get in position) Gotcha.

Add to it the 27R VASI is on the right side unlike a lot of runways, the 27R lights were on low intensity, and the fact that the center line lights on Mike are those LED's which can appear white. Add to it that it was their third/fourth runway change. Add to it the fatigue issues. See where this is going.
