I think acl pretty well nailed it, if you are in any jeopardy of being affected by the MOAB, have all of your ae, vd, and md bids updated. In reality, I think everyone except really senior 747-400 and 777 capts are in jeopardy of being affected.

I like the MOAB concept, we take a sharp stick in the eye one time and its done. The alternative is a painful tweak, followed by another and another... death by paper cut. Git 'er done.

No. Seriously, I'm just trying to figure out if things will be getting better or if they will stay the same.

Yes, the current seats in a given base are not eligible for a move under a AE or a VD. Only new seats in existing bases, and or new bases.

So, no MEM9B is not a new seat to a four balled Tomcat!

That's what I thought.... Thanks!:D

Got to run, it takes all day to scrach my B----s!

I got a song in my head to answer that.

Nothing stays the same, I will tell you that. We need to eek out the efficiencies of the merger, and it will effect most.

ATL is a mean base. I think the people that are 2-3% in category are able to get commutable trips. And Peachtree city is not a utopia, people die there every day. And there are losts of 2 and 3 day trips, back to back trips too. I'd try NYC first if I was looking for a new base.

:D

What new terminal in JFK are you referring to? It could take up to 3/4 years before a new terminal is built.:)

isn't MOAB a place in the desert?

Add to it that it was their third/fourth runway change. Add to it the fatigue issues. See where this is going.

Believe it or not there are two light patches of concrete where the aim point markings would be...

I hope they're smart and just post AEs with no displacements initially. They can see how it shakes out, minimize the impact on the pilot group that is happy where they are, and save the company some money on retraining. They could then do small cleanup AEs monthly to get the rest of the people where they want them. If they are heavy on the displacements this is going to be a rough place to work for quite a while with way too many movements, training events, and a large number of really POed pilots.

Handled well this could be a win or at worst a neutral for most involved. Handled heavy handedly and poorly, this could set the stage for a miserable place to work for years to come I'm afraid.
