I've got vacation next month and am bidding reserve. If I've got a regular line the previous month with no spill-over trips, can I "orphan" one or two work days at the first day of the month with an X-day block starting immediately afterwards? I'm thinking not, but can't find the language that would prohibit it.
This has all the answers you need, especially the PBS Gouge--page 132 specifically, "Reserve Line Construction Rules." It all depends on whether or not you have work days or off days at the end of the previous month. If you have a trip (or on call days if the previous month was also reserve) ending on the last day of the month, then you can "orphan" the days as you said, so long as by doing so you meet the "min days on" criteria.
If you do not, then you cannot do that. The Gouge explains it very well. There is also an Excel spreadsheet on the site, "Reserve Line Simulator" which will actually tell you if your desired reserve schedule is legal or not contractually.

My bet is that not only will it get rolled into C15, it will be part of the larger Global protections.
Kinda like the pacific deal a year or so back, except global.
I hate to see financial rewards for us with this grievance as we would be "selling out" our jobs. If the flying is 1% off then the company should have to reduce all JV flying by 1% immediately. Something along those lines, non compliance should have specific punitive action associated with it.

Rolling the settlement into C2015 would be a historic mistake. As you said, the language must have immediate reductions. As well as immediate penalties.
We should accept nothing less than the best international scope language ever written.

Does anybody have any information on pilot candidate tiers? Have they dipped in tier 2 yet? If not, any predictions on when tier 1 will be exhausted?
Much appreciated.

I forgot to delete it, and suffice to say was scrambling for a PD in the 0700 PCS run a few hours after I got the automated phone call notifying me of the "award."

couple of questions:
how do they determine max pick-up?
Can I only get an RLL if they cannot build me a line within the window. (I am barely senior enough for an RLL)
What is the minimum credit for an RLL award (if there is a minimum).
(okay, three questions)
If it makes a difference, the window for my category in May is 68:30 - 83:30

Looked at the PBS Gouge. Looks pretty good, need to spend some time with it.
Did find out you would only get an RLL if it followed an unconditional bid group (which I assume means you would be awarded anything that would put you within the window, before it would consider you for an RLL)
Nothing I could find about a minimum RLL award.
