So, on the AE, does it mean all surpluses will be displaced on this AE?

Normally, all surpluses are displaced. But, the company can un-displace if the training churn becomes overwhelming.

I would have immediately brought up fartgate.

Strange AE. Nothing for MSP or SEA. DTW gets crushed on the 744.
Should be fun!

I'm willing to bet most 744 pilots commute to DTW, and those that get displaced will end up commuting to another base to fly a wide body. I think the effect on the DTW base will be minimal.

Thanks Scambo,

Guess we'll see how many of those guys are west coasties. I'll probably end up with what I THOUGHT I'd get last AE:o

I'm not all that upset actually, commuting to reserve in LAX would probably be mucho expensive:eek:

I thought you bid ER-A in sea.

Anyway, I don't think I am affected by this displacement group. Definitely the next. I was considering changing some things up anyway.

Since I don't see any ATL 7ER B slots on the AE, does that mean I can't move from NYC 7ER B to ATL 7ER B, or since people have been hired after me directly into ATL 7ER B, would it allow me to bump them?

Always, ALWAYS, bid WHAT YOU WANT, and want what you bid. Just because it isn't listed doesn't mean anything. If someone leaves ATL B7ER for another category, they can/could backfill it. It sounds like they may not, but that should have absolutely no bearing on what you bid.

Bid what you want, plain and simple.

Nope you don't get to bump anyone. You just need to wait for a ATL ERB to open up.

What is the master plan for the ER fleet? I see they are not backfilling positions on the ER this AE due to aircraft retirements but we just bought 10 more 75's for charters. Has the company put out a timeline for the retirement? If not who has a good crystal ball or even a WAG we can use to start the rumor mill?
