That's mentoring not teaching.

2 questions for a newbie. I've looked at the PWA and still can't figure it out.

1. I have 3 days of MLOA and 4 days of vacation next month. I know the GS trigger for a regular line is still 75 hours, but what about a reserve line? With the MLOA, I will have less of guarantee than normal. So would a X-day GS pay on top of the my reserve guarantee? I would bid a regular line around my MLOA but I don't have the seniority to bid weekends off.

2. Does your APD reset on your anniversary date or your anniversary bid month? Meaning, could you potentially use an APD twice in month? Once before your DOH and once again after your DOH.

Thanks for the help.

1. There is no GS trigger on reserve. You'd just have a lower guarantee to add GS time onto.

2. APD resets on the first day of your anniversary month. Regardless of when the "bid month" starts. Can't have 2 in a month

Thanks! That's how read it. I'm getting better at the PWA interpretation.

I was referring to the great pay that they get to go with all that time off. That was a silly post. But hey, to each his own. The last thing in the world I would want to be is a debt laden teacher. I know plenty of them and getting the summer off ain't all that.

Is there still a PBS help desk? Trying to find anything on the DALPA website is pointless.

A lot of teachers in Maryland go to Ocean City, MD. and are cops for the summer. That gives them a chance to get shot year round.
