From my experience, payroll will add the "distance learning" credit/pay in the first month, upon your return from a MLOA. (e.g. I have been on military leave since Sept. 29th. I completed aircraft systems training in Oct. After completion, I received an email from payroll informing me I'd receive the credit/pay for this training in November, my first partial month back to Delta from a MLOA.)

A case of beer wasn't enough tonight. What an ugly loss. Congrats to Houston for clearly wanting that win more.

Reserve Question

Ok I bid reserve to get Christmas off with great success. But I want to move some of my X days and the computer won't let me submit my request because of a work day groupings. I'm trying to move a full block of on call days so the group numbers stay the same. Who should I call for help?

Many thanks

Give us a little more info. Are you trying to create more X day groupings than allowed? When are your current X days, where do you want to move them to, and what is the min days on call for your category?

Couple of things. Realize that you are not moving on call days but moving X days. Also realize golden days are bid and then the X day moves are processed. This will cause you to lose the golden day status of any X days in the group moved. In other words, any golden day moved becomes a regular X day.

I'm M88B reserve rules 3-99-5

I have X days 3-11, 17-18, 27, 31 and PVAC on 25-26

Trying to move X days from 5-7 Dec to 28-30 Dec.

Also trying to move days from 5-10 to 19-24.

Not so worried about golden days if I can get these moves done

I think the problem with 5-10 to 19-24 and the 5-7 to 28-30 is that you are creating more X day blocks than are allowed.

I guess I can see that for the 19-24 because the PVAC doesn't count as X days. However the 28-30 keeps the same number of groups I'd have 3-4, 8-11, 17-18, 27-31

Ok, I think I figured it out. The 5-7 is in the middle of other days, you can only move days that are at the end or beginning of a block.

You could move 9-11 to 28-30, then *I think* move 5-7 to 9-11, but that required two PCS runs, and you might not be able to get the weekend again.

Or, you could put a PD on 5, lose a days pay, and then you could move days from 6-8 to 28-30 I think.

You can call ALPA scheduling and they can help you - that's how I've worked out problems like this before. And they are the authority.

Ok, if I remember correctly, you can have 5 groups of X days as long as a minimum of 3 days on call are between them. In the above post you have 4 groups of X days.

After the initial bids come out, I'm not sure if you can create more groups of X days. I've never tried to move X days out of the middle of a group either. I've always done it from the front or back end.

It should take the 5-10/19-24 by itself. Try it separately from the first one and see it PDF you can narrow the problem. It may be there is something wrong with your first request.

Ok I called ALPA skeds and they said while I was good with the work rules the machine will ONLY let you move X days from the ends of a grouping.

Many thanks for the help.
