Thx cornbeef007! I've got a few FedEx/Kinko's around my area. I shipped a box via ground UPS and was kinda shocked at the price. Of course I remembered the FedEx discount about 10 minutes too late. Doh!

Yep it's easy, just show company ID. I believe you can use any Fedex Office (Kinkos) but some of the third party shipping centers won't discount. The best discount is 2 day air and price goes up if you need it faster. I want to say 70-80 % off.
Shipped 80lbs of meat in a fish box from Alaska to Iowa overnight for $100. I don't use the post office unless absolutely necessary... UPS is basically worthless as far as discounts go. |

Ok, a slight change of subject here. I'm probably going to start using FedEx or UPS a lot more here over the next few months. Do we still get a significant discount on FedEx? If so, do I just have to take my Delta ID to a FedEx store to get the discount? I'm just unsure how it works. Any help is appreciated.

Kinkos in my area did not recognize the discount, but that could have been the employee (didn't see any others that day and I rarely go in there). But there is a dedicated FedEx office nearby and they honored it. I used it for the overnight package delivery and saved 75%. The guy behind me really wished he could have my discount.
I just go in, ask nicely for the interline discount, show my ID. When they ask for which method you want to ship, I just ask what are the choices - they rattle off the service (next day air, 2nd day, etc) and the prices. Make your pick, pay by credit card, all set. Very close to Christmas (within a few days) they used to have an embargo for interline discounts, but I don't know if that still applies. |
CQ Hotel
How the heck do you tell the system which days you want a hotel for CQ? I've scoured iCrew and DeltaNet and darned if I can find it.
