It starts on the 23rd, my last x day. What's my best tactic to snagging this trip? YS to work on an x day for this trip? I'd GS but I think it would probably not get to me due to seniority. Thanks for the help, it would be pretty cool to spend Thanksgiving with the wife and kids and save somebody from being away from home as well.

. Choose the "Set Condition" tab, then button select the "Minimum Credit" button. If it is still available at your seniority level, it will try to build you a line from the ALV down to the min LCW number. . Keep in mind the the average of all awarded lines is, by definition, the ALV, so it follows that no more than half of the awards can be in the lower half of the LCW or the higher half. (I know this is a slight over-simplification, but you get the idea) . |

You can also put the last line of your bid as avoid trips that start in your base. Sometimes the PBS administrators set the number of pilots who can get min credit to 0 and that condition doesn't work. Any rule that would result in 0 trips being awarded at the end of your bid packet would make PBS run until you were in the LCW and then stop.

You can also use avoid if pairing carryout credit > 00:01. So many ways to say one thing, it's great to have the options.
I have learned A LOT by just sifting through reasons reports. I laughed when I saw "avoid if pairing total credit > 00:01," as if they were just being funny. Then I looked it up and realized it can be a powerful tool. |

Is there a benefit to calling in well on a sick trip? For example, if on day 3 of 5 of that trip, I were to call in well....could the company ask me to rejoin the trip, or assign me something else entirely? That's why I'm wondering if it's better to not deal with the hassle and call in well after the trip is over. Thanks.

If you a well and pick up a trip on the sick trip footprint, that time gets put back into your sick bank. So yes there is a benefit.
