No, please do! The more confident people are that they can overcome the ill-effects of senior equipment, the sooner they'll bid off junior equipment and make me ultra-senior. Might as well bid some Nov and Dec vacation and pull that summer time off too!

On widebodies, the trips rarely change between the original publish date and the ensuing month when it matters. With sufficient DH, and duty/ trip rig ( all of which gets paid in the later month), the portion that spills to the next month can have a high average daily credit; I’ve had 4 days pay 30+ hours in month # 2. I’ve seen the trips change on narrowbodies, but most of it was inconsequential. If you are not senior, avoiding carry out closes off a lot of opportunities.

In a time when I could not hold Christmas vacation or Christmas off, I would bid vacation in the week or two prior to Christmas. With a stellar carry out trip from November it was possible to meet the December bid window without bidding. Voila; Christmas off. Unstack this! (Unstacking is a lesson for another day for the uninitiated- it’s all about forced assignment of holiday flying). The scenario I just painted is both rare and special and requires a lot of luck along with answered prayers. But it did occur three times for me, and it wouldn’t have happened if carry out were viewed negatively by me. Regardless, the spill over portion from a trip that began last month often gives a welcome credit boost to get the next month rollling in your favor.

Good to know, I did use a carry out pairing to my advantage going to training recently so I hit the credit threshold and got extra time off before training. So agreed it can be useful in the right circumstance.

Can anybody point me towards the parking situation for 320 cq if they put you at the Renaissance? Is there a shuttle? Walkable?

I'm at the Renaissance concourse now for training. I'm not sure what parking situation is but I'm pretty sure it is free...large lot right on property.

You can take shuttle every 20 minutes and they go straight to front of Delta entrance. Or you can walk...real easy to take a left out of parking lot and go through rear entrance of Delta parking lot (as long as its not a weekend or before like 5 am, or after about 730 pm because gate is closed). If gate is closed you have to walk all the way around...plan on 20 minute walk from hotel to sim if you are going long way...15 minutes if cutting through.

Make sure you ask for room facing away from airport (north side/city view) if you haven't been here before.

Parking at the Ren is 20 a day. It is not covered by the company. Ask me how I know.

Is a shuttle though
