What's the normal timeframe for LCA's to get someone on their schedule for IOE? Is there a minimum? Got lucky this month, just threw that bid line in and had two taken away from me. Didn't even realize it until right before the trip. All my trips next month are with LCA and no one listed on them yet.

It seems about 5-7 days before the trip you'll see an "L" next to the legs that will be taken for OE. They'll call you around 7pm the night before releasing you, if they are going to do that.

switching airplanes..do you end up getting X days back that fall under your shadow window as PB days or do they move them to on call days outside the training window? Or do they simply just disappear after OE? Couldn't find the answer.

No, that's why you should bid to put as much flying/on call days as possible into your shadow period so that after OE you can have as much off as possible. YMMV

Know what you mean.... after seeing my Dec sked I had to go relook at my bid and make sure that instead of "prefer off" that I hadn't mistakenly put "award trips" instead.

Maybe next contract we'll ask for holiday pay.

I've heard at airlines that have it, holiday trips go senior and sometimes the young pilots get to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with their families. What a concept!

It doesn't even have to be all or nothing. Holiday pay on just those two holidays - or even just ONE of them - would go a long way toward improving QOL.
