There was a deal last year where employees could get the Gold Amex for no annual fees as long as you're an employee of Delta. I don't know if they still have that promo or if that was a limited time deal though.
Why would you want a card that you have to pay a fee to own?

Like hotel points, I have heard lots of guys that are platinum point members that get into the clubs and whatnot, but you have to spend a fortune on those cards. Well, way more than I typically spend in a year. But yeah, I guess if the incentives are worth more than the fee it might be worth it.

At what point will they contact you and either put you in a sim or get a flight for you if you are about to lose landing currency? Do you have any say in the dates or a flight? Will you actually go non-current or will they try to get you in before you drop?
I go non-current on 1 Feb. Yes, I've tried to Yellow and Greenslip. And yes I filled out the 14 days of availability thing in icrew (down to 4 days left...)

I would call scheduling tonight or call your CPO tomorrow.

I have never gone non-current so I am not the best source, but from keeping up on the Forums I believe they will schedule you once you go non-current. From what I understand you want to go before you go non-current because it is just a few landings and no big deal. Once you go non-current you have a more rigorous syllabus. Not sure if its a big deal or not but in either case its probably too late for you.

It's a bigger problem if you go non-current, both for you and the company. The company loses you as a pilot until you're current and when you go to the sim, it's more of a CQ event than just 3 takeoffs and landings (but not CQ, just one sim period). I have never run out of currency in ten years, because I've done probably 8 recency events to get landings. Some were only a few days before I ran out (because of scheduling) but it was always done.
You don't get much say in what day you'll do the sim, but you do schedule your own flights to and from the sim.

Speaking of SIM’s:
I was scheduled for special re-qual training (returning from long term MLOA) with a Captain who was returning from long term sick. Our syllabus was 3 days, plus a travel day.
Well, the Captain got sick again and cancelled. My training is now 2 Sim periods, plus a travel day.
Am I pay protected for that third SIM day? I don’t want to lose money because my training partner Captain called out sick. That doesn’t seem right.
