Note the news from American today. Oil prices are starting to hit home.
The increase in jet fuel costs is making some marginal flights less profitable. American said it will further trim previous plans to increase flying in the third and fourth quarters. That could help allay investors' fears that American and other airlines are expanding faster than the growth in travel demand, which is preventing them from raising fares to offset fuel prices. The airline also announced that it will delay the delivery of 22 Airbus jets to reduce capital spending in 2019 through 2021 by $1.2 billion. The company wouldn't come to the table by honoring RCC inputs and staffing for the additional X day. DALPA took the proper action and shot the hostage. It stinks we lost a negotiated benefit in our contract, but it was Delta's decision that killed it not DALPA.

Basically none of it. We dropped I think GDL from ATL and added LAX to Mexico City. I think GDL was seasonal. Contractually our Mexico flying can’t be reduced. With the current company/MEC relationship I doubt you will see any increase. I suspect 100% of new flying will go to AeroMexico.
Ok, thanks, SF! She is a speaker and can't fly home any longer, but next time I see her I will tell her that she is wrong! Because some guy on a forum with 10K posts said so! |

I supported the decision based on the company not talking to us per the contract. It however never should have come to that. We no longer have any meanful conversation with the company which is the bigger issue. Nothing is getting done. You have a paralyzed MEC that speaks loudly but carries a very tiny stick.
