Huh??? Reading the April award, the results show nine 350 FOs were "MD'd" in the April 2018 AE which means nine senior (DTW777Bs) took their training spots. The category did not decrease by 9 pilots.

7 of the 9 went to different categories (via their "MD") other than than the ones they were holding prior to their March 350B AE award. Whether they went via MD or 22.E.15, the result is the same - they were bounced from the category by MDs. Further, those positions were not "rebid" in July, the company posted the remaining 35-ish FO vacancies to get the category to the desired 200 pilots per seat.

However, if the Company did "cancel" their AE as you said, 22.E.16 would take effect but that wasn't how it played out. Further, two of those elected to return to the 350 category in the July AE via 22.F.12 which is available to those who are MD'd, not those who have their AE cancelled.

All of the FO’s in question had not started training. The critical shortage has been Captains not FO’s.

I spoke to a 350 FO who credited 230 hours one month, and by June had already made his "normal" 747 annual salary.

Quick question for the masses. I'm transitioning fleets next month. I have 3 days of differences training in the sim but then no shadow period at all for OE on my schedule. Furthermore, the four days prior to the differences training, PBS gave me a four-day trip .

How does this play out? Obviously, I cannot fly the trip since I won't be qualified. Will I get pay/credit for the trip or will the trip just drop once the schedulers realize that I cannot fly it. I understand shadow bidding, and I also bid a long trip when I expect to do OE. Just never heard of a situation when you get a trip BEFORE your scheduled training.

Thanks!!

You sure you don't have (S) on any of those "awards"?

I"m not sure of your exact situation, but if you're converted that month, then your schedule should show NQAT prior to the training. I would follow-up with scheduling, otherwise they will expect you to be flying the trip. It happened to me.

I agree that NQAT should be before training. But it’s not on there...as far as I can tell DBMS treats me as if I’m qualified. So when you called scheduling, did the trip drop with pay?

There was some talk we wanted out of the 350 completely so perhaps they were waiting for guidance on if we were even going to get the aircraft.
Lots of "they" s in there. The captain failed too.... Accountability. Where is it, we're held to it.

Default Degree Question

Hey guys, new to the Delta forum so I apologize if this has been addressed.

I was just wondering if Delta still takes into consideration how long you took to finish your 4 year degree, what school you went to, and what your GPA was?

I was told that some people don’t get called because it took them 6 years to finish their bachelors. Also a guy with a GPA of 2.9 in mechanical engineering weighs more than a guy with a GPA of 3.5 in creative writing. Any truth to this?

Thanks for the help everyone!
