It's not an IT thing, it's a contractual thing. I agree that it's a pain, and have included this in my surveys.

Can you show me where it is written? I've seen people make the same claim but I'm not smart enough to find that gem myself.

I've got a few days off in a row next month and really wanted to go to Chiang Mai, but I feel like I need at least 4 travel days for that trip which would eat up too many of my days off -- plus can't get there on DAL metal which removes a warm fuzzy from the nonrev picture. Was thinking perhaps Tokyo as I've never been there, any recommendations on the min days to spend there as well as a best departure city to assure Delta 1?

TIA

If you go to Tokyo, don't waste a good jet lag, get up early and go to the Tsukiji fish market. If in session, go to a Sumo match, a Tokyo Giants home baseball game, and if in the spring there are lots of amazing cherry blossoms to see.

The Tsukiji Fish Market closed.

Alrighty, well go visit the Toyosu fish market then..... I guess 90+ years of history wasn't enough to save the Tsukiji location. Maybe the new digs will be nicer.

I would agree on your Chiang Mai assessment. I lived in Thailand for 3 years and when I go back I always do at least 10 days. The trip is brutal and you don’t want to be thinking about the return trip as soon as you get there. For future reference KAL has a direct Inchon to Chiang MI flight that works with our inbound Delta flights. I think it was around $100 Zed.

Sorry can’t help you on Tokyo, stationed at Mishawa many years ago but I was poor and had 4 kids. Our adventures consisted of trips to the local Ramen house. The kids did love the local fish market so that is definitely a must see if you can get to one. If it slimes, slithers or crawls in the ocean the Japanese will eat it. Makes for some interesting viewing and smells.
