Ferd, the Easybid product will print out all the calender stuff you need. Plus it will print out a flight tab for each flight on a rotation with radio freqs and such.
Next month!! Ferd |
Yeh, thanks for the gouge for the iPhone to enter # and password. I've been looking for a way to do that.

Thanks guys. I've downloaded it but haven't played with it yet. Navtech desktop was free and there was a PBS guy in NRT that knew what he was doing with it:D
Next month!! Ferd Both software places (BidBuddy and BidAssist) that made calendar programs have said that they are going to make software to work with DBMS output. I think BidAssist already has a beta of BA3 that you can download. I don't like the idea of paying someone a subscription fee to access the mainframes when all of the data is free, anyway. Nu |

I remember looking at a report put together by the union on where all the Delta pilots live geographically.
I think it was on ALPA boards, but I am not sure. Can't find it anywhere. If you know where to find it could you please point me in the right direction. Thx Denny |
Check your emails.

I was just browsing the Jan bid package for MSP DC9 and A320. I just have a question as to the commutability of the northern bases, i.e. MSP,DTW. First glance the MSP DC9 flying scares me a little bit, especially with the 5 day trip pairing that begins 7am on day A and ends at 2200 on day E, something that the south side never has. And I believe the M88 has more trip variety than the DC9 as well. (countless GRB,CMH layo in the DC9 bid pack)
What is the general consensus for MSP? It seems like it's the northern version of ATL, where the trips generally aren't created for commuters, and the mentality of "commute is a choice" is running wild. I'm just trying to see if it's better commute to the west coast from MSP, or should I keep looking east bound. |

I commuted to FLL from MSP for about a year, and it was a hassle. NWA was always a very seasonal airline, and the pull back to FL and other points in the south in the summertime always made commuting a chore, even from DTW. MSP really was the center of the universe, and I have had MSP based FAs say "why would anyone want to live in Florida?". The seasonality abated somewhat in the last few years in DTW, but commuting from MSP to the east (other than the NYC area or DC, perhaps) can still be a chore. You might see a BIT more "commuting is a choice" thing in MSP, but nothing like ATL. Most MSP commuters are to points west or south down the Central time zone. The DC-9 trips have always been less commutable than other fleets just because the duty days are so darn long. The lack of variety, however, is a result in the pullback of the fleet. Back in the day when there were 180+ DC-9s, which was not all that log ago, you went just about everywhere other than the west coast, and you went into a lot of small, wacky places that had no other mainline service by anyone. DC-9 flying out of MSP, especially, took you into places like Omaha, Green Bay, Des Moines, several towns in Montana (Kalispel, Missoula, Great Falls, Helena), several more places in the Dakotas (FSD, RAP, FAR, GFK, BIS, MOT and even more places in western Canada like Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Regina. Out of DTW, you hit just about every burg with a stop light. Now that the fleet is smaller, that limits where you go. Nu |

Figure that we lost 130 DC9's worth of flying (gulp).......that's a lot of mainline. |
