Long answer, not a sound bite, sorry. Just my opinion, and worth what you paid for it.

No apology required - I said that there was probably not a soundbite answer. :)

Now that's living in style!!! You could crash that out and make some money renting out "hot seats" ;)

CVG could not compete because there simply is not enough O&D traffic. Absent O&D traffic with a decent yield no hub is going to survive long term. Delta has to many hubs in a small area. From the moment the merger was announced CVG was doomed. Anyone who thought otherwise was deluding themselves. I also suspect that as soon as the new terminal opens in ATL you will see MEM go away also. At best it will become a focus city.

Slow,

Nice summary. I don't see any LCC's moving into CVG. If they were going to do it, they would have by now. There is a reason they haven't yet.

Agreed. IMO the reason is exactly why DAL is leaving, decreasing yields on flat traffic numbers.

Using that logic, DTW is doomed as well.
As you know DTW is not the strongest O and D market, but it has awesome connecting numbers.

As for MEM, they are doing the last great RJ rollout.....

Don't the bid awards have to be in DBMS by 0800E on the 17th? Almost 10:30 and all we have is the "unofficial" bid awards page...
