I'm curious about the CVG surplus and what that means in terms of the pilots for those who would not be able to hold ER. What if 100% of the 767 guys bid ER, even though a surplus is listed would the company take them all anyways? ... And just a quick question and its not meant to sidetrack the thread but tsquare, what the heck is that in that picture? A cat? Dog? A devilish Australian outback animal that climbed in your sleeping bag... just curious. Something from DKR? |
So this AE is not staffing the Spring-Summer 09 growth?
Will there be enough time to train after the next, the "first Q of 2009", AE? Thanks |
oh thank GOD someone finally asked! it's been driving me nuts. TSQUARE, please answer the question, mean while i'll get the coffee, the walk around, and take you to dilirium for beers when we land in brussels.

It covers the growth airplanes, what it does not cover is the 88 shortfall.
Surplus is the guys that are on it now. It means that with the new position notice they are no longer needed in that position. It also shows a net gain of +2 seats on the CVG ER vs the 767. |
I find it interesting that they are creating an ER category (CVG) that has more captains than FO's. I guess that means some B only trips from ATL and/or JFK to make up the three man rotations.

So with this CVG growth on the 7ER category does that mean NYC7ERB could be displaced?
Are they taking some of the 7ERs from NYC and moving them to CVG? Trying to figure out if the way this plays out if displacements are coming. |
They did not announce any so probably not.

A question about displacement preferences: is it possible to list a position with a qualifier (ATL 7ERB at 90%) and then list it again farther down your preferences without a qualifier? Is this stuff written anywhere? It seems like we're stretching getting our info from a forum...thanks!

I don't see how the CVG conversion can work without displacements. How do we know they're not going to happen. I don't think you can simply rubber-stamp the domestic 756 CVG guys and make them ER. Can you? That said, why wouldn't many of the current 756 domestic CVG guys get displaced? Assuming these guys couldn't hold CVG ER, they'd have no other option.
Also, on that note; assume you are a domestic 756 CVG guy that likely won't hold CVG ER. If staying in CVG is your primary desire can you bid and be awarded CVG 73N or M88? Trying to figure this AE thing out. Can you only bid what's showing (ie 777, 7ER)? Dazed and confused newbie along for the ride.......Do I still show up for work next week?:) |

If there are people on the 767 in CVG that do not want to fly the ER, and bid to something else in the system, they can bump the most junior pilot off of it. That will probably happen a few times here. There is no announced shrinkage of any other category or base. Some will shrink with no backfill as the memo stated. |
