I remember years back UAL was taking delivery of the 744s and then flying them directly to the desert. So sad for such a beautiful machine.

The 744 cockpit is very nice... lots of room... 5 total seats! Once you get in the seat it's about like a 757, but the cockpit just keeps going back and back.

I remember that United 744 problem. United management refused the pay rates on it so the pilots refused to fly them. I don't don't think they stayed very long. That is what DAL threatened us with when they were short on the 777. I didn't remember us pulling any ER's out, but then we never hear anything in SLC. HA I vaguely remember something about the A330. I read somewhere that it costs about $80,000 per year to keep one of those moth balled for future use.

1.
Beggar - Do you have any spare change?

Me - NO!!! They don't make SPARE change!!!

2.
I was in Bakersfield, CA and wandered into a Taco Bell. A lady was holding a sign asking for money. She was standing in front of a help wanted sign. I bought my lunch and picked up an application sitting next to the cash register. On my way out I handed the app to the lady. She proceeded to say naughty words to me in Spanish. Yo hablo espanol. I told her to get her lazy a$$ to work......then I told her I was calling immigration. (I was bored on a layover and felt like being a jerk)

I've got the NWA parking pass but can't find the lot. Also, does the shuttle take you direct to the sterile area (ie. can family ride the shuttle to the terminal)?

Thanks

ranger

The lot is off of 34th Street in front of the maintenance hangers. As for the shuttle, it does not take you to the sterile area but drops you off near the light rail station outside of security. However, the drivers check for your Delta id and family members (or anyone without an employee id for that matter) are not allowed on the employee shuttle so you'll have to drop them off at the terminal before you go park.

According to some sources, on the web (not Deltanet), 7 DAL 752s are stored in MZJ and VCV. 9 NWA 752s. 7 767-300s are stored. 4 767ERs. And a whole bunch of 742s and Comair CRJ200s.

5 757-200s, 2 from DAL and 3 from NWA, 6 A320s and 3 MD88s are being "recycled."

Now, all this above might go under the constant in motion, any given day, thing ACL mentioned.
