I've seen plenty of fake green cards in my past life. .....and yes I was being childish by mentioning "la Migra". There is plenty of work for young, healthy people. If you have time to spend holding a sign for hours a day you have time to work.

BTW -

Just got the ALPA email stating they are starting an inquiry into the misinformation in the April magazine article, Mature Beyond His Years.

How do you know she had a fake green card? Ignorance at it's best.
I agree 100% with you on the fact that there is work out there if you want it, I'm not sticking up for her, it just annoys the $hit out of me when people make broad statements like the one you did. "She speaks spanish so she must be illegal"...."She must have a fake green card since she speaks spanish"....You get me?

Bar you deleted too fast!!! She had the old "pink" green card. Her picture was cut out and laminated over the original. Easy enough for a dumb pilot like me to figure out. Sorry I got you guys stirred up into a race type issue. That was not my intent. I come from a pot pourri family. Heck, even my stepmom speaks five languages, has a green card from a different country and continent and from a different hemisphere than me. I just grew up in a family that worked for every penny. I don't like to give handouts to young, healthy, capable people. I will give them a job if they are willing to work. Once again, sorry folks. Back to our regular schedule programming.....

My bad....I'm not trying to turn it into that either....And again, I completely agree with you about working for every penny and such....especially when you are a young capable person. I just don't like broad statements that puteveryone into one category. Guess I'm biased and sensitive to it.

You don't know me but you don't like me
You say you care less how I feel
But how many of you that sit and judge me
Have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?

Satch... damn you.

His memory is spot on. In addition the average PRP pilot flew a additional 6 weeks beyond his actual retirement date. Only some check airman got to stay beyond 90 days extra.

Delta Planning Changes On MD-88s

Mar 17, 2010
Aviation Week

Delta Air Lines is going to reconfigure and upgrade more than 100 of its MD-88 aircraft.

Delta confirmed that is the carrier named in a press release Monday by Greensboro, N.C.-based Timco Aerosystems, an aircraft interior engineering firm. In the release, Timco said it was chosen by a “major global airline” to help with the installation of new galleys, new first class passenger seats with power ports for personal electronic devices, modified overhead bins and a “high-density seating modification” on more than 100 MD-80 series aircraft.

Delta had 116 MD-88 aircraft in its fleet as of the end of 2009. (The only other carrier operating more than 100 MD-80 series aircraft is American Airlines.) Delta’s MD-88s have 14 first class seats with 37 inches of pitch and 128 economy seats with 17-inch width and 30 to 33 inches of pitch.

Timco said it has already begun engineering preparations, and that work on the first aircraft is scheduled to begin in mid-June.

In late January, Delta announced plans to invest $1 billion through mid-2013 to “improve the customer experience in the air and on the ground,” including improvements on Boeing widebody aircraft and the addition of first class cabins to 66 CRJ-700 aircraft operated by Delta Connection carriers ASA, Comair and SkyWest. But it did not mention the MD-88 aircraft.

Delta declined further comment Monday, referring questions to Timco.

Okay, 2 things here.

A) All those who no matter what the rumor is, and thats about 0% of the people who post or read this forum, say there is no way that'll happen and Delta's not going to do that and you don't know Delta and I remember when people said they'd do this that and the other and they neve... should I go on? Anyways, you're a poopy head.

B) I've never thought of this but taking a CRJ700 and taking seats out to add first class is proof enough that its not about seats, its about RASM. And anyone who claims in the future that we need to give up just a itsy bitsy bit of scope so that the E175s could seat 88 seats which is just some extra lift we desperately need to survive would be, imho, yanking your chain.

Couldn't help but think of this when I saw that exchange. :)

-For those of you who don't remember the background of that, those promo neon green signs were put up in cities around the country to promote the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie.

Boston, in all their brilliance, considered them a bomb threat. Shut the city down practically! All for a couple neon green signs showing the Mooninites.

Took me all of 5 seconds to recognize the characters when they showed the "possible device" on tv. Oh, sweet healing laughter....

Of course it is about RASM. The other side of that argument is that there is not enough RASM in the FC cabin to justify the loss of 10/12 seats.

I agree with ya though. That will never happen because there are so many customers that die to sit in those seats. Proof positive is the reconfiguring of the 70 seat jets.
