I agree with the premise that commonality between fleet books is critical. NWA had the same feel throughout all their fleets despite the different manufacturers. The more I think about it, the more it was a poor idea not to adopt that methodology as opposed to the horrible Boeing books that we use. It's so frustrating learning a new airplane when crap is shotgunned between 4 different books in a manner that is quite illogical except to those that wrote them. |
After going through three, err four training events in the last three years, commonality is good. It does make it a little easier......

It still takes me a long time to find things. These days I generally look in the airway manual first. It is the best bet if it does not have to deal with the procedures on the jet...... |
