Well, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and wait and see (like I have a choice) But, from what I'm hearing, the 4th floor is starting to resemble "Survivor" Atlanta.

ACL...........who does that make the naked guy?:D

iaflyer,

Yeah I saw that and corrected my post.

Thanks Scoop

As far as management knowing where the problems are I humbly suggest they get out on the line and fly around in the jump-seat - unannounced, so they don't get the red carpet treatment.

Scoop

Excellent suggestion had a 1 star in AF that would travel around as a LTC...no bands, no staff cars, worked pretty well to see what was really happening.

We are very lucky to have this guy. He was the director of Pilot resources & Scheduling- not solely scheduling. He is not a suit - he is retired Navy O-6 who served as a Squadron Commanding Officer and then promoted to Wing Commander.

He was hired in the summer of 2001 as a DAL pilot and was promptly furloughed. While furloughed he was given a job in the Chief Pilots Office and obviously impressed someone because he was then given the Director of Crew resources job. Last time I talked to him he was trying to get back out on the line. Luckily for us they keep promoting him.

I heard (but can't confirm) that it was him who gave a presentation to management convincing them not to furlough on this last cycle. As a recently furloughed DAL pilot he knows very well the significance of a furlough.

I for one am very happy to get this news. :)

Scoop

I don't care much about resumes Scoop. I only care about results. Sometimes people you would least expect produce great results. I'm glad you like him and that he didn't want to furlough people. But he ran scheduling from 2007 until just a few months ago. Scheduling is not running very well. That's a concern.

He was also on the integration team when that team decided to adopt all Delta stuff. Our performance is now worse than ever. That's another concern.

We do. It's sitting in a box somewhere in MSP. It came free with the merger.

You are exactly right Ferd. There is too much "Delta pride" to admit that they've made such an investment error in SAP. In the meantime, our customers get to see some very poor performance and we occupy the number one spot in customer complaints.

fDAL guys: In business, pride is BS - performance is everything.

Wow, if only Northwest had bought Delta all would be right with the world...

You didn't need a bazillion dollars. You merged with a company that already had state of the art enterprise software. It was Delta's as part of the deal at no additional cost. Delta discarded it.

Give them time - we just finished an amazing merger with few problems.

We do have problems. Serious problems. When your diamond million milers are looking at other airlines, that's trouble. RA knows this and is deeply concerned. I just hope he listens to the right people for the fixes.
