Ferd, got the same letter. Pretty sure it's referring to follow on monthly contributions, not the transferred funds. Have you been able to check your account on-line?

Yup..........you are exactly correct, that's what it was trying to tell me too. When I went in and changed my elections to mirror what Luca suggests, I saw "the rest of it" and it did transfer correctly.

Thanks for your help, I "typed" too soon.:o

Also, going to this metric you describe takes things like the efficiency of the next get jets out of the equation.

SWA to DAL pay per hour is apples to oranges. Tired of hearing we want their payrate + 1%.

Take their trip rigs, non-pbs bidding, vacation, and trip density(no 3 hour productivity sits) and even if our rates were the same, your W2 at the end of the year would be 40% less. My buddy just had a week of SWA vac that paid 58 hours(touching trips). 3 day trips pay what our 4 days do. etc, etc.

If you want the money they are making you need a lot more than just their payrates + 1%.....just so you know.

Hey Ferd,

Who is "Dave Luca" ?

acl65pilot 08-04-2010 01:15 PM

Flamer, I agree. Reread what I said.

I agree with your statement. Everyone looks at SWA rates and the goal, they should not be.

I have a few buddies there that are sitting deep reserve and still credit over 90 a month and bring home over 11K a month. That is a Jr for a few 100 from the bottom.

What was the name of the other 7171 operator West of the Mississippi?

Hey Ferd,

Who is "Dave Luca" ?

He is a financial adviser who did a good job analyzing all the funds that NWA had for their 401K and DC fund. He has now switched gears and has done the same for the Fidelity funds. He makes recommendations on where to put your money based on a conservative model, moderate model or aggressive model.

YMMV, but he has done better for me than I was doing for me:D (good news) but his twice a month news letter is expensive ($9.95/month).

Not an advertisement but:
