All of this is true if they decide they're going to follow the PWA. Put in for a YS last week, and designated one trip (3 day) I wanted. Got a different 3 day trip, and saw the trip I wanted go to a guy jr to me four minutes later who hadn't put in for a YS.

I called and spoke to the scheduler, who after putting me on hold for 8 minutes said he didn't know why; said they must have read the numbers wrong. His comment was they try to "accommodate" the requests and that it was too late to fix it.

Seems this happens fairly often enough that there should be greater transparency to the process.

Question, coming from someone from way on high bidding down to reserve.

If on the mighty 88 if the min (consecutive) reserve days on is 3, does that apply to the beginning of the month? Can someone have reserve on the 1st and 2nd, and then have the 3rd off? Or does that reserve days on group have to be 3 and be on reserve for the 1st through 3rd?

Thanks
FTB

I've had one day of availability between months. Example: X days on 28, 39, & 30. On resv for the 31st, then X days starting out the next month.

Call ALPA and ask to speak to one of the scheduling specialists. If a trip was assigned in error they'll get you compensated for it. If it wasn't, they'll explain why. Just make sure you have all the details (rotation numbers, time/date stamp of trip assignment, and your YS data) so they'll be able to work more efficiently and get back to you quicker.

If you put a yellow slip in for a trip that doesn't match up with your days available, will they give it to you?

Ie. I have 5 days of availability and I put a yellow in for a 3 day trip....

There are two forms of Yellow Slips:

First there is the lowering of your RAW by 15 pts. This is for ON Day flying only.

Second is in the PCS, SLIP REQUEST
It is preferences to fly on OFF DAYS. This will tell the scheduler that you are willing to fly on your off day for regular credit and no X day payback.

You could get the five day trip with the second Yellow since two of the days are off days.

Sad, so I'm not the only one huh? Happened twice in the past month to me and I've given up on pcs requests as they blow them off anyways and if you do call it's too late and you get nothing. Not at all how it used to be even a few months ago. Same with requesting pm or am sc, they just start at the lowest raw score guy and give him/her the first AM sc and work up from there.

Like Slow states call ALPA, they will look and see if there were any FAR conflicts et al that forced the schedulers not to honor your requests. If not you will get paid the greater of the two trips.

Actually after reading that I think you meant the recalls to DAL oops. I'll try and read better next time.

Well Congrats anyway!!! :D

These are the reasons, among others, I quit bidding reserve. Reserve rules need lots of work in the next contract.

No problem. I'm just glad to get any sort of response on here! At least now I know people have been getting their stuff and I haven't. I'm supposed to be in the Sept. 6th recall class, but still waiting on whatever packet is supposed to come. Thanks again and good luck. I'm sure I will see you around campus.
